About me and my therapy practice
In this section and the following section, I will speak about how I work and my Practice.
Initially, I will take a full Assessment that will take often a couple of sessions. It is a good way for you to get used to talking to me, exploring some of your history briefly and identifying what challenges you are facing.
Quite often, our work together leads into longer term work as your exploration of yourself deepens and the discoveries that you make about yourself lead into further work together. I use a variety of different approaches very much depending upon you and your own individual unique needs. I hold a holistic view point that we are body, mind and spirit and work with your own values and belief systems, it is an unbiased space.
I work with a very wide range of challenges including Loss, Grief, Bereavement, Complex PTSD, Depression and Anxiety, Trauma, Stress, Loneliness, Mental Health diagnosis, Neuro-divergence, Emotional Abuse, work-related issues, Stress, Physical health illness. Please do reach out to ask about your own struggle if it is not listed on here.
I work with you to bring about perspective, looking at yourself and situations from different angles and view points, deepening your awareness and allowing for you to make different decisions with this newer awareness.
We work together for 50 minutes at the same time each week, this brings consistency and continuity as well as routine and safety.
I feel I am an approachable person, very interested in you and what you are experiencing, and I welcome honesty, open-ness, and self-reflection.
Practice description
I have been working as a counsellor since 2013 starting off in a Hospice gathering a very broad range of experience, some of it around grief, loss, bereavement, a lot of it about self re-discovery and then often the deeper work of truly becoming themselves for the first time.
This work brought me into Private Practice and deepened my understanding of the human condition further, of how people are searching for themselves in so many places as well as trying to cope with difficult, often traumatic experiences that have brought them far away from the person who they used to be and in turn this brings them into therapy. The work of therapy lies in the uncovering and addressing of coping mechanism, thought patterns, ingrained beliefs that are holding you back from being who you truly are and living the life that you wish to lead. The process of therapy I believe in wholeheartedly and with commitment, dedication and trust, it is possible to make long-lasting changes and live a life that is peaceful, joyful, and with purpose.
I work relationally with thought, care and attention to you and who you are as a person, offering a wide range of skills and ways of working with you. I am strongly committed to you and your process both within the session and outside the session through regular attendance of CPD workshops, further research and reading, as well as abiding by the BACP's Ethical Code of Conduct and regular Supervision.
Please do get in touch to ask any questions or queries, I answer as soon as I can and am available to set up an initial session to see whether we are a good fit to work together.
My first session
I usually suggest an Initial session that is charged at my regular fee. This helps to understand what it is that you are facing, how I can help, as well as giving you a chance to meet me and to see whether we are a good fit to work together. The relationship in therapy is important so that we can do the work together, feel safe and trust that the space is non-judgmental and that you are being heard and understood.

About me and my therapy practice
I am working as a Supervisor of Counsellors and Psychotherapists.
I will be applying and working with a range of Supervision models to include the Seven Eyed model as well as offering an intuitive way of working with you helping to support you in your own Counselling Practice.
The Supervisory relationship as we are aware is an essential part of our client work, and working together involves commitment and staying with what arises in order to support your client work and to bring insights and awareness of what is happening in the client-therapist relationship and using the Supervisory relationship to unravel and clarify what is happening. I will be attuned not only to you but to what is happening between you and I, offering suggestions through transference and projection. I will be offering you an objective perspective from different angles to help to inform you of what is happening in your client work.
I offer a relational way of working with you, my attention will be focused on you as a Counsellor and how to support you in unravelling any issues that you are experiencing in your client work and suggest ways forward that are supportive of you and the way in which you work.
I will be abiding by the BACP ethical framework and supporting you and your client work within this framework. We work collaboratively together, discussing all aspects of your work and allowing space for each client that you bring to the session. It is a place for you to bring and share your concerns with any areas of your work, discuss yourself as a Practitioner, your future hopes in further trainings. All areas are welcome with the aim of creating your responsibility to yourself and your clients as a Practitioner and feeling confident in the work that you are doing.
Practice description
I have a Professional and relational approach within a Supervisory setting. You can expect me to be committed to you and your client work offering you a space to discuss and explore your client work freely.
I will work consistently with you, offering a range of Supervision models to support you within your client work. If I do not know about something that you have asked, or something that has arisen,I will research this and reach out to other Professionals to gain this knowledge if necessary.
We will meet weekly and at a time agreed upon before by both of us. This will be our regular commitment. We will have a contract between us that will be our referral point throughout our time together.
I will encourage you to bring your clients and any concerns that you have, this is where the work lies and can help to resolve many issues that you are facing with your clients and help to bring about change within the work that you are doing with a client.
I will be able to support you in signposting you towards your own personal therapy when you have identified an issue that has come up from a client session in Supervision.
I have my own Supervisor who I will take the work between you and I to discuss with them.
