About me and my therapy practice
Counselling can be helpful for many reasons but perhaps the most simple of these is that as human beings we have emotions, and experience difficulties and we often need to talk things through when life gets tough or we feel stuck.
Working with a Counsellor gives you the opportunity to talk to someone (outside of your own life), who intention is to help you feel better about yourself, you relationships, life generally, and your ability to cope when things are hard.
Practice description
As a counsellor, I am trained to listen to and support you and help you find your own path through challenging times. If you find it harder to open up, it may be useful to remember that counsellors need to have their counselling themselves, as part of their training so we have been in your 'chair' before and know that it takes a little time to feel comfortable speaking about some things.
I'd like to say that one of the things I feel is important is that I work at your pace. I don't have a fixed way of dealing with things since it's important to me to help you feel as comfortable as possible too, because if someone doesn't feel comfortable with their counsellor then the counselling just doesn't work as well.
My first session
When you contact me we will arrange an initial appointment during which I can let you know how counselling may be able to help you and you can ask any questions you may have.
From here, we can go ahead and book some further sessions.
