About me and my therapy practice
I offer friendly and relatable therapy incorporating influences from various theories to suit your specific needs which may include earlier life, family and relationships. I often work long term and at depth whilst keeping your needs central within the therapy. Sometimes you may want to talk about current concerns and other times you may want to process something within your own history.
Trust and confidentiality are crucial within our sessions, and I take this aspect very seriously as it is the foundation of our work together.
Everyone has unique life experiences and because of that, I will try to understand from your personal perspective the relationship or scenario that only you have encountered. This is very much a collaborative approach which helps us to explore your thoughts and feelings so that you can shed new light on something or try to make meaning of a situation or idea. Understanding and sharing an emotional burden can be a great relief.
Some clients find working with metaphors very helpful when working through long-held thoughts and beliefs to try and pin point specific emotions and feelings - sometimes these thoughts and feelings can feel like a frustrating loop and finding the right words can feel difficult. I will work to try and understand your specific way of communicating so that you feel authentically heard and be able to speak freely.
Practice description
I offer both face to face and online appointments - if you have not used online meetings before, I will provide a 'How to' guidance sheet which explains how to connect this way. You will need private access to the internet and a device such as ; a computer, laptop, tablet or mobile smart phone.
I practice from Hinckley and Nuneaton, which have discreet access and parking nearby - rooms are based on the 1st floor.
My first session
When you have made contact initially via email or telephone message, I will contact you to book a free of charge telephone call back (please allow up to 15-20 minutes) to ascertain if I can be of assistance to you. This call is to establish what your concerns are and, if appropriate, book an initial appointment. During the telephone call you will be able to ask further questions about me and what I offer and decide if that will suit your needs.
If you wish to book an appointment I will send via email request for payment and a guideline document that gives further information about cancellation, payment etc.
The first session includes an assessment to make sure we are a good match to work together and allows you further opportunity to ask any questions you may have and what you would like to get from therapy. All appointments are 50 minutes in duration.
