About me and my therapy practice
Beginning therapy can feel like a big step, so I aim to make the process as welcoming and straightforward as possible; offering a warm, compassionate, and confidential space where clients can explore life’s challenges without judgement
I am a fully qualified and experienced integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor, supporting individuals from a diversity of backgrounds with a wide range of issues, including stress, anxiety, low mood, depression, PTSD, relationship difficulties, and the impact of major life changes such as loss, separation, illness, redundancy, or relocation. I also work with the effects of past abuse, neglect, attachment difficulties, boundary-setting, and conflict.
I offer both short and long term therapy, and I tailor to each client’s individual needs by integrating Person-Centred, Psychodynamic, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) approaches.
In addition to practicing privately, I have also been a counsellor at Rushden Mind and Northamptonshire Rape Crisis. I have extensive experience working with victims and witnesses of crime, and have also been privileged to be able provide trauma-informed support to many adult survivors of child sexual abuse during their engagement with a major government inquiry.
Practice description
I believe a strong therapeutic relationship is at the heart of effective counselling, helping clients gain greater self-understanding, develop resilience, and move towards lasting positive change.
My practice is supported by regular clinical supervision, ongoing professional development, and I have valid professional indemnity insurance.
I offer a complimentary initial consultation by phone (15–20 minutes) to answer any questions, discuss your therapeutic needs, and to help us decide whether we are the right fit before booking a first appointment.
Therapy sessions last 50 minutes and are usually held weekly or fortnightly, with a review after six sessions to reflect on your progress and discuss the best way forward.
Sessions are available online or in person, in a warm, comfortable private setting with off road parking.
My first session
If you choose to continue after our initial telephone consultation, the next step will be booking your first appointment.
This will be an assessment session, which can sometimes take a little longer than a usual 50 minute session, at no extra cost (allow for 1 to 1.5 hours), and will provide an opportunity to explore your background, current situation and concerns, and to set some therapeutic goals.
Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you would like to book a free no obligation call, or if you need any further information.
