Thank you for viewing my profile. I do currently have availability for working with new clients. I work both online at £50 per session and face to face, my fee in person is £60 per session. I work Monday to Friday during the day and also in the evenings on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

About me and my therapy practice

I am a Trauma Informed, integrative psychotherapeutic therapist/counsellor and I work with men and women, both short and long term clients. I draw from a number of psychotherapy disciplines with the aim to find a unique pathway for your growth and healing that fits comfortably with your way of thinking and being.

I’ve been working in private practice for 12+ years and look forward to the next 12. My 50 minute sessions are client led and tailor-made for you. I facilitate a safe and confidential space and through active listening and reflection I encourage my clients to discover their own path to self compassion and emotional wellness.

I am not always a silent therapist I will, when appropriate, gently challenge my clients, and/or offer any psycho-education if we both feel that might be helpful. I believe building a trusting and reliable relationship between client and therapist is all important. What we discover, learn and understand about you and your story can have significant influence in unlocking self-compassion and help towards altering old thought processes and behaviours that are no longer serving you well.

Compulsive, or addictive behaviours and thinking including: OCD, obsessional thinking and behaving, compulsive problems around sex, love and relationships, workaholism, shopping, hoarding, alcohol

Practice description

I'm interested in a holistic approach to counselling and therapy. In our 'crazy-busy' lives we live so much in our heads and leave very little time to remember the importance of giving ourselves the gift of time; of appreciating and being in nature, nurturing our bodies, our spirits and our emotional selves and I believe we do this to our detriment. We often leave very little time to properly get to know ourselves and sometimes can begin to lose sight of who we really are and what we really want from our lives. So I'll be encouraging you to take time to feed and nurture your body and mind with compassion and loving care.

Coming into therapy can be a big step and choosing a therapy model/theory and a therapist who feels right for you might seem like a daunting task. As an integrative therapist I have studied a number of modalities. I often use Transactional Analysis (TA), some Psychodynamic principals, sometimes I lean into Internal Family Systems (IFS) or maybe some Jungian dreamwork might be appropriate. I'm not always a silent therapist but my sessions are always client led, you choose the focus.

Increasingly I find myself bringing a 'compassionate enquiry' approach into my work, so I will be asking to know a little about your upbringing, your family tree, your friendship tree. I might sometimes use simple guided meditations where appropriate. Having a broad base in person centred theory I am very much led by my clients and what they feel comfortable with.

My first session

In the first instance I offer a free telephone conversation to assess what you might like to achieve and to explain how I work. If you decide to go ahead and book with me at the beginning of our first session we will run through a contract, this should only take about 10 minutes. My contract is designed for clarity, it’s important for you to understand what your sessions entail. Once that's done we can begin.
