About me and my therapy practice
I have been in practice for 14 years supporting individuals experiencing a wide range of challenges, such as anxiety, stress, depression, bereavement, loss, relationship and health difficulties.
I also have a particular interest in motherhood, pregnancy, ante-natal and post-natal health (postnatal depression, postnatal anxiety, birth trauma & loss) and parenting.
My therapeutic style is relaxed, warm and compassionate. I adopt a relational approach to practice which puts your needs at the very heart of the work. I practise from a non-judgemental perspective, viewing difficulties as life’s challenges rather than disorders. Together we can look at the choices and possibilities arising from your current situation - and work towards understanding your options, needs and how to move forward in life.
I am trained to a high level and have a Doctorate in Psychotherapy and Counselling from Middlesex University. I aso have a Masters degree in Therapeutic Counselling from Greenwich University.
I have diverse clinical experience having worked in a community counselling organisation, university counselling service, NHS GP practice & private practice.
I am UKCP registered and BACP & UPCA accredited.
Practice description
I have trained in a range of modalities including existential, humanistic, CBT, psychodynamic, mindfulness and solution-focused approaches. I carefully adapt my approach to suit each individual's needs and place emphasis on building a strong and trusting relationship.
My first session
Choosing the right therapist is important. To help with this, I offer a complimentary 20 minute telephone or Zoom consultation where you can tell me about your situation and ask any questions you may have about the therapy process or my professional experience.
If you decide to proceed with sessions, we can set a convenient date and time. I usually suggest we start with 6 sessions and then review your needs. I offer both short and long-term therapy, depending on your circumstances.
I am a covid-conscious therapist and recognise that we are living through uncertain times amidst an ongoing pandemic. I offer sessions online, by phone or in a large well-ventilated room with a HEPA filter in West Wickham, Kent.
The therapy room is within easy reach of Bromley, Beckenham, Shortlands, Hayes and surrounding areas.
