Practice description
I have been working using the full range of options below for many years, with really good feedback from my clients.
In person
I work from two comfortable clinics in Tynemouth and Newcastle upon Tyne on the North East coast of England.
Telephone
Most of us have easy access to a phone line and are used to speaking on the phone to friends, family and at work. Telephone counselling uses this familiarity and adds in the elements of confidentiality and making some space for ourselves that we get from attending a clinic.
Webcam
Many people like to see the person they’re talking with, and webcam counselling offers us the opportunity to see each other as we speak. It’s easy and secure, and as with telephone counselling we add in the element of making sure we won’t be disturbed.
Email Counselling
Email counselling is a flexible way to get support without having to commit to a timed session. You can write a 500-750 word email to me about any issue that’s worrying you and I will support you to understand better the difficulties you’re experiencing and think about ways to change things. Email counselling can be the only way to access therapy for some people like shift workers, carers and those who travel for work.
My first session
Our first session will always be a full history taking and assessment and includes some time at the end to discuss options for therapy together.
