About me and my therapy practice
I am integrative counsellor and psychotherapist working with both individuals and couples in person in Hammersmith/Olympia face-to-face and online via Zoom. I draw on a number of modalities and theories to inform my approach, including psychodynamic, attachment and systemic theory to explore the past and current relationships and CBT theory when working with issues such as anxiety and depression. I place a high value on the establishment of a good therapeutic relationship and my aim is to provide a supportive, accepting and non-judgemental place where we can work collaboratively. I aim to help you find positive ways to move forwards as we explore challenges, behavioural patterns and influences from the past. When working with couples I look at the emotions that are driving behaviour and identify and work with any destructive patterns that are causing problems. I have done EFT couples training but have also looked at other models including RLT.
Practice description
I work in W14 in person and also online. I suggest the best way to see if we are a good fit is to book an initial session with no obligation to book further sessions. Alternatively I am happy to have a fifteen minute chat over the phone free of charge. I would suggest beginning with six sessions and then reviewing whether you wish to continue. Sessions are 50 minutes for individuals and 60 minutes for couples.
I have been working as a counsellor/psychotherapist for over 10 years in both agencies and private practice. I am a qualified supervisor and also work as a counselling tutor on a DipHE counselling programme.
Training and Qualifications:
I have a Dip HE (Counselling)(Roehampton) and a MA in Therapeutic Counselling and Psychotherapy (Middlesex). I am an accredited member of both ACC and BACP and have completed an EFT couples externship. I am also a qualified supervisor.
My first session
I do an informal in session assessment, which means that In the first session I will ask more questions than usual, for example why you have come now, what is most important for you to work on, any mental health conditions and medication.
