Therapist - ONLINE

ONLINE B15
Sessions from £70.00

Features

Availability

I am currently offering online sessions in the UK and internationally.

I am available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10am to 7pm.

About me and my therapy practice

Do you feel torn between family expectations and your own needs? I use IFS therapy to help South Asian women navigate difficult relationships, set boundaries and build self-worth, confidence and autonomy.

Relationships with family, a partner or in-laws can be complicated, especially when your wishes conflict with others’ expectations.

The thought “What will other people say?” can become an ingrained belief that shapes decisions and behaviour.

You may fear being judged or bringing shame to your family. You might worry about being seen as a selfish or disloyal, or a “bad” daughter, wife or mother, if you make choices others disapprove of. Keeping others happy can become automatic, while your own needs and aspirations are pushed aside.

Over time, this pressure can leave you feeling anxious, low, exhausted or resentful. You may work hard to meet everyone’s expectations yet still feel "not good enough" or lose touch with who you are and what you want.

How Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy can help

IFS is a compassionate approach that helps you understand the different parts of yourself that influence how you feel and behave.

Through IFS therapy, you can begin to:

  • Navigate difficult relationships: Recognise recurring patterns with family, partners or in-laws and communicate your feelings and needs more confidently.
  • Understand people-pleasing: Explore why keeping others happy may feel essential.
  • Loosen the grip of “What will other people say?”: Recognise how fear of judgement shapes your choices and develop greater freedom to choose what feels right for you.
  • Build self-worth and self-trust: Become less reliant on approval and develop a kinder relationship with yourself.
  • Set boundaries with less guilt: Practise saying no without automatically feeling selfish or disloyal.

You don’t have to choose between caring for your family and yourself. Therapy can help you honour the relationships and cultural values that matter to you while making room for your own needs, choices and identity.

Practice description

A little about me

As a second-generation South Asian woman, I understand how cultural expectations and family roles can shape our identity and choices. My experiences as a daughter, sister, wife, mum and mother-in-law have helped me appreciate the challenges of balancing family relationships with our own needs.

After more than 30 years as an Orthoptist in the NHS, my own experience of therapy inspired me to retrain as a therapist. This personal journey, alongside my professional experience, has shaped my commitment to providing a warm, compassionate and culturally sensitive space where you can explore your feelings without fear of judgement.

I welcome people from all backgrounds, with a particular interest in supporting South Asian women. I also have experience supporting women through life transitions such as menopause, as well as miscarriage and pregnancy loss.

What to expect from therapy

I offer online therapy to adults across the UK and internationally. You don't need to know exactly what you want to change or have any previous knowledge of IFS. We will explore what's troubling you at a pace that feels manageable.

Therapy doesn’t have to take a lot of your time. It’s just 50 minutes every week and you can book an online session that fits your schedule and cuts out travel.

Sessions and fees

  • Format: Online therapy.
  • Session length: 50 minutes.
  • Frequency: Weekly.
  • Fee: £70 per session.
  • Duration: Short-term or longer-term, depending on your needs.

Qualifications and further training

  • BA (Hons) Person-Centred Counselling and Psychotherapy
  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) – Level One
  • BSc (Hons) Health Sciences

I regularly undertake continuing professional development (CPD) to ensure my practice remains current and informed. This includes training in menopause, body image, narcissistic abuse, trauma, anger management, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and much more.
