I counsel face to face from my home in Keighley, West Yorkshire. I also counsel online and over the telephone, so am available wherever you are in the UK.
My working hours are Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, from 9am to 6pm. All sessions last 50 minutes. The latest session start time is 5.10pm.
About me and my therapy practice
I counsel on most of life's issues, and specialise in helping people who are childless / childfree to work through any difficulties they have around not having children, so that they feel better about themselves and the future.
Do you long for a child and worry that you’ll never have any? Perhaps you’ve just learned that children aren’t possible for you, and the life you thought you’d have has just disappeared before your eyes.
Or maybe you're childfree by choice and happy with that decision, but it's causing you other issues. Perhaps it's impacting your relationships, or you're worrying who'll look out for you as you get old or ill.
Not having children can cause difficulties at any stage of life. Counselling can give you relief and clarity, making you more able to manage things which currently feel overwhelming.
Practice description
I understand how hard it can be to begin counselling. You may feel silly, or worry about seeming bitter or selfish. But in counselling, you don’t have to pretend to be anything you're not. And I don't have children myself, so I have some idea of what you're going through. You can read about that on my website www.curvycounselling.com.
I have a Masters degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy, and a degree in Psychology. I set up my private practice in 2021, and before that I counselled for a number of diverse organisations, including a faith-based charity and a women’s centre. I’m a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work in line with the BACP’s Ethical Framework.
If you're interested in having counselling with me, do send me a message or email frances@curvycounselling.com. Then keep an eye on your junk mail in case my reply goes there!
