About me and my therapy practice

I specialise in helping people who are childless / childfree to work through any difficulties they have around not having children, so that they can feel better about themselves and the future.

Do you long for a child and worry that you’ll never have any? Perhaps you’ve just learned that children aren’t possible for you, and the life you thought you’d have has just disappeared before your eyes.

Or maybe you're childfree by choice and happy with that decision, but it's causing you other issues. Perhaps it's impacting your relationships, or you're worrying who'll look out for you as you get old or ill.

Not having children can cause difficulties at any stage of life. Counselling can help you to express and relieve your feelings. It can improve your confidence, improve your relationships, and help you feel more positive about the future.

Practice description

With my education, training and experience, along with my lived experience of not having children myself, I can support you through your issues.

I have an MA in Counselling and Psychotherapy, and a BSc (Hons) in Psychology. My counselling training is integrative, which means it covers different theories and modalities. I draw on these as needed to make your sessions suit you as an individual.

I set up my private practice in 2021. Prior to that, I counselled for a number of diverse organisations, including a faith-based charity and a women’s centre.

I’m a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work in line with the BACP’s Ethical Framework.

I understand how hard it can be to begin counselling. You may feel silly, or worry about seeming bitter or selfish. But in counselling, you don’t have to put on a fake smile, you don’t have to be brave, and you don’t have to perform.

Please check out my website if you're interested in having counselling with me, or send me an email to introduce yourself. Then keep an eye on your junk mail in case my reply goes there.
