About me and my therapy practice
If you've found yourself here reading this, aware of needing support through a difficult time or wanting to be free of those things in our past that keep us stuck, welcome and please do listen to your own innate wisdom and trust that things can change for the better.
I specialise in working with Loss and can help you through the profound and life-changing grief after the death of a loved one.
As life is constantly changing, we experience many different losses throughout our lifetime. It may be a 'living loss' that you need support through such as a significant relationship ending, a health diagnosis or age-related changes. In this busy world, having the opportunity to acknowledge and explore these losses in a safe, non-judgemental and professional space can be a true gift to yourself and your future.
My constant hope is to offer you the opportunity to work safely and compassionately on the parts of your life and your self that are causing the most difficulty so you can move away from pain and towards a more peaceful you.
I have worked for St.Michael's Hospice as a Bereavement Counsellor, the Macmillan Counselling Service at Eastbourne District General Hospital, and The Sara Lee Trust, supporting people living with life threatening illness.
I now work exclusively in my private practice. Working days are Tuesday - Friday from my home office, from The Hub on Rye Hill (which is accessible by wheelchair) as well as on Zoom. My approach is professional, down to earth and friendly; fostering a trustworthy therapeutic relationship where you will be safe to explore what you need, without fear of judgement.
I adhere to the BACP ethical framework, am fully insured and am continuously building on my knowledge through relevant CPD and Supervision.

Practice description
Counselling is a unique opportunity to work in a confidential space, without fear of judgment, on aspects of your life causing difficulty at present. Some people work short term, taking six to twelve sessions, others may wish for more longterm support. This can be discussed in your initial assessment and reviewed regularly as we go.
The therapeutic relationship is an integral part of the work and therefore it is important you feel comfortable with your choice of counsellor and the type of therapy they offer. Humanistic counselling is a phenomenological and existential approach, based on respect and trust. This means I will endeavour to hold in mind what binds us all together as human beings, our shared experiences of what it means to be human, but also to know deeply that we are all experiencing life in our own unique way. Advice is not given but a deep connection of understanding is sought and through this, growth, understanding of self and meaning can develop.
My first session
The first session is 30 minutes and free of charge. It is a chance for us to meet, to get an overview of what has brought you here and make sure I am the right counsellor for you and what you currently need.
