About me and my therapy practice

Tanya Gordon MA MBACP UKCP

Integrative Psychotherapist, Highgate · Barnet · Online

Maybe it feels like everyone else has a plan, while inside you feel stuck or anxious about where your life is going. Maybe you’re scrolling through other people’s careers, relationships, and milestones, feeling pressure. I help to untangle the anxiety, and self-criticism so you can feel more grounded in your own timing and more able to make choices that fit you, whether you are navigating university, workplace shifts, or the complexity of modern relationships.

I primarily work with:

• Young adults navigating identity, boundaries, anxiety, and life and career choices

• Neurodivergent adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety or overwhelm, wanting to understand their profile, regulation, masking, and burnout

• Parents who are unsure how to support their child or adolescent, helping you find calm, connection, and a way through that feels right for your family

Authentic connection sits at the heart of my practice. From this shared foundation, we can gently explore the messy reality of being human. My approach is compassionate, warm, and collaborative, yet direct. There is no such thing as a perfect human. I meet you with honesty and openness, adapting integrative, trauma informed, and body based approaches to you, rather than fitting you into a model.

I offer a free 10 minute consultation to see whether working together feels right.

Qualifications & Registrations

Accreditation: UKCP and BACP Accredited Psychotherapist.

Practice description

I draw from a range of evidence-based, relational modalities, which we can blend to suit your needs:

Psychodynamic & Attachment-based: Exploring how early experiences shape your present patterns and relationships.

Humanistic, Gestalt & Transactional Analysis: Focusing on the "here and now," personal autonomy, and understanding your internal dynamics.

Trauma-informed Practice: Prioritising safety, trust, and emotional readiness above all else.

Creative & Play-based: Using art, play, and sandtray to express what words sometimes cannot.

Creative Visualisation & Mindfulness: Helpful tools for grounding and self-reflection.

Somatic & Body-based: Focusing on the mind-body connection to support regulation and nervous system safety.

CBT-informed Tools: Practical, flexible strategies used to support your understanding of how to cope day-to-day.

Family & Systemic Approaches: Understanding your unique experiences within your wider relationships and environments, including NVR-informed (Non-Violent Resistance) strategies to help parents find an anchored, de-escalated way forward during high-conflict or high-stress moments.

My experience:

I have supported clients across a wide range of mental health and developmental challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD, Autism, ADHD, and AuDHD.

Clinical Settings: I have delivered one-to-one therapy within private practice, charities, mainstream schools, and specialist neurodivergent provisions (such as The Holmewood School).

Systemic Insight: My time shadowing neurodevelopmental teams at the Maudsley Hospital (CAMHS) gave me a deep understanding of NHS referral pathways, assessment processes, and post-diagnostic support.

Collaborative Practice: I frequently work alongside multi-disciplinary teams.

Parental Support: I have created and facilitated parenting courses for The Holmewood School and a London-based charity, focusing on practical, connection-led strategies.
