About me and my therapy practice
Are you the one who can't fall apart? The one everyone else leans on, even when you're running on empty? Does it show up as irritability rather than sadness — a short fuse, a flat "I'm fine," pushing harder instead of stopping? Have you been telling yourself it's just a busy patch — for longer than a patch should last?
I work with senior professionals and executives who function well on the outside while something underneath has quietly stopped working. Not people in crisis — people whose usual strategies (push through, stay busy, keep performing) have started costing more than they're worth.
Practice description
Sessions take place in one of the library rooms at 37 Queen Anne Street — large, open spaces with room to move, stand, or pace if that's what a session calls for, rather than being confined to two chairs facing each other. Tall windows let you look out and think, not just look inward. Shelves of old books on philosophy and psychology line the walls — a reminder that the questions you're working through have been asked, in one form or another, for a very long time.
It's a deliberate choice of setting. Therapy that includes the body works better when the room allows for it — when stillness is a choice, not the only option.
My first session
Our first meeting will take place over Zoom — no charge, low commitment, no need to come into the room before you're sure this is right.
It's a chance to talk through what's brought you here and whether we're a good fit, for you and for me. I'll ask some background questions to understand your history and current situation, but this isn't a formal assessment or a tick-box process — it's a conversation, structured enough to be useful, open enough to leave space for whatever's actually present.
By the end, you'll have a clear sense of how I work, and I'll have a realistic view of what focused work together might involve — including likely session numbers, since most work runs 6–12 sessions.
If it's not the right fit, there's no pressure to continue. If it is, we'd arrange to meet in person at Queen Anne Street for ongoing sessions, or continue on Zoom if that suits you better.
