About me and my therapy practice

I am an Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor working in private practice in Clapham and Brixton. I provide a safe, supportive and confidential space to help you explore any issues that you are finding hard to deal with. This may be feelings of anxiety, low mood or generally feeling overwhelmed by every day life. Maybe you’ve experienced major life changes brought on through bereavement and loss, trauma or relationship issues. I believe by building a trusting therapeutic relationship we can explore what's happening in the here and now. We may also explore past and early experiences to understand negative patterns and unhelpful behaviours.

I combine aspects from different models of therapy to help each individual client. I draw upon the humanistic philosophies offering a warm, empathic and non-judgmental space to build a good working relationship. I use psychodynamic concepts to explore unconscious processes and the impact that childhood events and relationships may have in the present. I will help you reach your goals whether that’s finding peace of mind, reaching your full potential or moving forward with your life with a better understanding of who you are and where you want to be.

I offer face-to-face and online short-term or long-term therapy. I have volunteered for many years with a children’s hospice offering support and bereavement counselling to parents and carers of children with life limiting conditions. I have undertaken extensive bereavement counselling training working with bereavement services. I have also had experience working in an NHS practice and for charities such as Mind helping clients with common mental health issues.

My first session

During our initial 50 minute session, I will carry out an assessment during which I’ll ask you to share your story, any concerns you may have and any struggles you may be experiencing. I will explain how I work and ask you to think about your goals. There is no obligation for you to continue with me but if at the end of the first session you feel that we’d be a good fit we can discuss a regular time that would work for you. We can then look at entering into a counselling contract.
