About me and my therapy practice
I am a psychodynamic psychotherapist and registered member of BACP.
For over 15 years, I have worked therapeutically with children and teenagers across private practice and educational settings, including schools and specialist organisations in Peckham, Brixton, Bermondsey and Hackney.
In private practice, I work 1:1 with teenagers aged 16+, as well as providing counsel to parents navigating the challenges of raising children and teens in an increasingly complex world; supporting families to cope with bereavement, divorce, learning difficulties, domestic violence and PTSD.
I also provide 1:1 psychotherapy to adults (typically under 40) who may be struggling with anxiety, depression, burnout, questions of identity, family and relationship challenges, or the ongoing impact of difficult or traumatic experiences. I have extensive experience supporting clients with Autism, ADHD, C-PTSD, BPD, and Bipolar Disorder.
My approach is primarily psychodynamic, whilst also integrating trauma-informed care, person-centred, systemic, and mentalization-based thinking.
I offer a steady, thoughtful, and collaborative therapeutic relationship within which clients can develop greater self-awareness, and begin to make meaningful changes. Weekly sessions provide continuity and containment, allowing trust to develop over time and making it possible to explore difficult memories, feelings and relationships in depth.
Practice description
If you are considering therapy, you are welcome to get in touch with a few brief details about yourself, including your age, availability, and what has led you to seek support at this time.
I also welcome enquiries from parents or carers seeking support for a teenager or young adult. If contacting me on someone else’s behalf, it is helpful to include their age and a short outline of the issues they are struggling with. In private practice, I work with clients aged 16 and above.
I aim to respond to enquiries within 24 hours.
My consulting room is situated in a private location in East Dulwich; 10 minute walk from Lordship Lane; 5 minute walk from Peckham Rye Park. Free parking is available on all surrounding streets.
My first session
Before beginning ongoing therapeutic work, I offer an Initial Assessment Session - a 60 minute meeting in which we can begin to think together about your current difficulties, personal history, and what may have led you to seek therapy.
The assessment is also an opportunity for you to ask questions and see how you feel working with me. Some people arrive with clear concerns they wish to explore, while others struggle to know where to begin. Both are welcome.
Following this initial meeting, we can consider together whether ongoing therapy feels appropriate and discuss a possible way forward.
