About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced therapist and qualified coach working in person and online. Both therapy and coaching can enable you to overcome the challenges you are facing in your life at the moment. Some people come wanting better relationships, help to reach their goals, or a space to explore who they are. Others are suffering from anxiety, depression, loneliness, low self-esteem or grief. Sometimes people come just wanting to find more meaning and fulfilment in their lives.
Whatever the reason that brought you here, change takes courage and commitment. But if you can give yourself this opportunity, you will find that you will feel lighter, happier and more resilient. You will understand yourself better and have a better relationship with yourself and others. You will know what it is you want from your life, and you will be ready to go out and get it.
I work in an integrative way, drawing on a range of disciplines in order to create a service which is uniquely tailored to you. Although there are many overlaps between counselling and coaching, there are important differences too, and they constitute two different services. Saying that, I also integrate the knowledge and understanding of each, giving you the best of both worlds.
I have been working as a therapist for around 10 years, and clients have described me as being warm and easy talk to. Integrity is one of my core values and I will always treat you with respect and the information you share with me as confidential.
Please see my website to hear from some of my clients on their experience working with me.
Practice description
I like to work with all kinds of people, on all kinds of issues, but I have a particular experience working with people with minority identities or anyone who feels that they are in some way on the edge of, or outside of the norm. I have worked for many years with the LGBTQ+ communities and people in polyamorous relationships.
I also have a lot of experience working with unpaid carers/family carers, and am co-director of social enterprise Coaching for Unpaid Carers. I am passionate about the democratisation of coaching and our aim is to make quality coaching available and accessible to as many unpaid carers as possible. You can find out more about that at coachingforunpaidcarers.org.uk
I am a recognised provider of counselling and psychotherapy through insurers Aviva, Axa Health and Vitality Health. Please let me know in your initial email if you would like to pay for the sessions via your health insurance.
My first session
I offer an initial consultation for a reduced fee of £25. This session is my opportunity to find out more about you and what you are looking to gain from therapy or coaching. It's your opportunity to experience what it would be like working with me, and ask any questions you might have. It's important you find a therapist who you feel comfortable with.
