About me and my therapy practice

Are you seeking a safe and supportive environment to explore your concerns? Look no further. As a fully qualified and registered Art Psychotherapist, I am dedicated to providing a nurturing and integrative approach to therapy, tailored specifically to your individual needs.

About Me:

With extensive experience working with both adults and children, I specialize in addressing a range of challenges such as social anxiety, ASD, ADHD, low mood, eating disorders, self-harm, education non-attendance, and children in care. My practice focuses on employing a psychodynamic process while incorporating various therapeutic approaches, recognizing the uniqueness of each individual's circumstances.

My Approach:

My work combines elements of different therapeutic methods to create a holistic framework for your healing journey. I believe in the power of art as a medium for self-expression and healing. By fostering a space that encourages exploration through artistic or through verbal communication and expression, I aim to help clients uncover and address underlying issues while feeling comfortable and supported.

Therapeutic Specialisation:

At Peepul Therapy, I prioritise creating a gentle and kind environment where you can feel relaxed. I am passionate about making the therapeutic experience as comforting as possible, ensuring a safe space for exploration and growth.

Practice description

Welcome to my private practice, nestled in a dedicated room within my home, designed to offer a space for confidential and personal therapy sessions. Located near Fairy Hill Park in New Eltham, the practice boasts convenient street parking and resides in a serene, safe area.

My approach to therapy is entirely client-centered. I prioritise accommodating and adapting sessions to suit the unique needs and preferences of each individual. Whether it's within the comfort of the therapy room or strolling through the nearby park, I am committed to tailoring the experience to your comfort and requirements.

Within the therapy space, you'll find an extensive array of art materials and digital tools at your disposal. The freedom to choose among painting, sculpting with clay, working with sand, drawing, or even exploring digital art on the computer is entirely yours. Some weeks you might feel inclined to express yourself through art, while other times, simply walking in silence or engaging in a conversational walk can be equally therapeutic.

My therapeutic approach is non-directive, aiming to create a relaxed and welcoming environment. There's no pressure or imposition of a specific agenda. The sessions are led by your pace, your preferences, and your choices. My role is to offer a supportive presence, devoid of confrontation or demands, allowing you the space to explore and express yourself in a manner that feels most comfortable to you.

Whether it's utilising art as a medium for self-expression or opting for a more fluid and open discussion, the emphasis is on fostering a safe, accepting, and non-judgmental space for your healing and self-exploration.

I look forward to joining you on this therapeutic journey, tailored uniquely to your needs and preferences.

My first session

The first session I aim to establish a solid foundation for our therapeutic journey while fostering a safe and comfortable environment for you. Within this session, I prioritise discussing the boundaries and guidelines to ensure we both understand the framework within which our sessions will operate. Confidentiality, mutual respect, and the safeguarding of your well-being are fundamental pillars of our interaction.

In this initial meeting, I don't impose a different rate; it's part of the regular session structure. It's crucial to establish trust and comfort in this first encounter. Hence, I don't delve into assessments or specific therapeutic techniques immediately. Instead, I focus on building rapport and understanding your needs and preferences.

I encourage an open dialogue about your expectations, concerns, and what you hope to achieve through our sessions. I emphasise that you are in control of the pace and direction of our conversations. Exploring the room and available materials is an option to help you feel more at ease or express yourself if words are challenging.

Understanding that sometimes the weight of our thoughts or emotions can be overwhelming, I assure you of the freedom to leave at any point during our session. Your well-being is the priority, and the door is always open for your return whenever you feel ready to continue.

I believe in individualised approaches as everyone's journey and needs are unique. This first session acts as a soft introduction, providing a space for you to acclimate to the therapeutic process and feel empowered in your engagement.

Overall, my goal is to establish a safe, supportive, and respectful space for our work together, ensuring that you feel understood, empowered, and in control of your therapeutic journey.
