About me and my therapy practice
I offer a calm, supportive space where children, young people, and adults can explore their experiences safely and without judgement. My approach is integrative, drawing from person‑centred, CBT‑informed, and psychodynamic models, allowing me to tailor therapy to each person’s needs, pace, and goals. I believe that you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to help you make sense of your thoughts, feelings, and patterns so you can move toward meaningful and lasting change.
With over nine years’ experience across school settings, community organisations, bereavement services, and trauma‑informed practice, I have supported clients facing anxiety, low mood, self‑harm, suicidal thoughts, grief, neurodiversity, relationship difficulties, and challenges with identity or self‑esteem. I work collaboratively, helping you understand what’s happening beneath the surface while building practical strategies that support resilience and emotional wellbeing.
The therapeutic relationship is central to my work. I aim to create a space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to explore both current concerns and deeper themes from your past. Sessions may involve reflective exploration, grounding techniques, or structured tools depending on what feels most helpful for you. My practice is rooted in empathy, curiosity, and professionalism, with a commitment to ongoing learning and development.
Whether you are seeking short‑term support or longer‑term exploration, I offer a warm, steady presence and a flexible approach designed to help you navigate difficulties, develop self‑awareness, and move toward a more grounded and confident sense of self.
Practice description
I offer a warm, steady space where children, young people, and adults can talk openly and feel genuinely supported. My approach is gentle, compassionate, and shaped around you. I adapt our work to what feels most helpful, creating a pace that allows you to breathe, reflect, and explore without pressure.
I believe therapy is a place where you should feel safe enough to be yourself. I aim to build a relationship based on trust, kindness, and curiosity, where your experiences are met with understanding rather than judgement. Together, we look at what you’re carrying — whether anxiety, low mood, grief, self‑harm, neurodiversity, relationship struggles, or a sense of feeling lost — and gently make sense of what’s happening beneath the surface.
I bring both warmth and professional grounding to the work. Sessions might involve quiet reflection, grounding techniques, or practical tools, depending on what feels right for you.
Above all, I want therapy to feel like a place where you can slow down, feel heard, and reconnect with yourself. Whether you’re looking for short‑term support or deeper exploration, I offer a calm, compassionate presence to help you move toward greater clarity, confidence, and self‑kindness.
My first session
Our first meeting is a an assessment session offered at a reduced rate. It’s a chance for us to meet in a calm, welcoming space where you can talk about what has brought you to therapy and what you’re hoping for. There’s no pressure to share anything before you feel ready — we move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
During this session, I’ll take a brief history and background so I can understand your experiences and what you’re carrying. I may ask some gentle, supportive questions to help me get a sense of what you need and how I can best walk alongside you. This isn’t about “getting it all out” or telling your whole story at once; it’s simply about beginning to understand you and what feels important right now.
We’ll also talk through practical things like confidentiality, how sessions work, and what you can expect from our time together. You’re welcome to ask anything that helps you feel more settled or informed.
My hope is that this first meeting feels safe, steady, and reassuring — a place where you can breathe, slow down, and get a sense of whether I feel like the right therapist for you. There is no obligation to continue afterwards; the session is simply an opportunity for us both to understand how we might work together and what support will be most helpful for you.
