About me and my therapy practice

Looking for a therapist and reading what feels right for you can’t be easy, especially when you’re already struggling. So, thank you for stopping to read about me and how I work.

I find more satisfaction in the privilege of being with my clients than maintaining social media platforms, and a confidential, empathetic and kind space can be found with me, where I hear you.

I’ve been in clinical practice for over ten years, and exploring your inner world and how your past experiences and relationships are continuing to influence your current life will be part of our work together. We will look at the patterns you are caught up in and how this might be getting played out with others, and we will find meaning with the YOU part, as this may have got lost along the way

As a certified Trauma-Informed Therapist, I can also support you with PTSD & CPTSD symptoms by using stabilisation and mindfulness techniques that promote healing. Here, we can begin to understand your triggers and make space for ‘now’, rather than ‘back then’. We also focus on all the parts of ourselves which prompt us to push, criticise, avoid, fight or please, which may often leave you confused, regretful and tired.

Maybe you've experienced a bereavement, or you may not even really know what's causing you to feel the overwhelm and loss that’s coming up, but I have extensive experience supporting neurotypical and neurodivergent clients through difficult life events, and this collaborative process can be deeply transformative.

This is not a one-size-fits-all approach. Your experience is unique, and I offer what's best for you with compassion and healing at the core. I believe in the power of therapy and have witnessed how this process can enhance life on many levels, whether in person, online, nationally, or internationally, so do get in touch, and we can go from there.

Practice description

My self-awareness, knowledge, and skills have developed throughout my clinical practice. I am an inclusive practitioner, fully trained and well-informed, and I respect clients' values, beliefs, cultures, and lifestyles. I regularly commit to continual professional development as there is always more to learn.

I hold an Accredited BACP membership, which demonstrates a higher standard of competence, ethics, and inclusivity. I adhere to the BACP's Ethical Framework for Good Practice and their Online and Phone Therapy (OPT) competence framework. I hold full professional indemnity and public liability insurance and have an up-to-date enhanced DBS certificate. I also have a background in the education sector, mainly in secondary school settings.

My first session

This will allow us a deeper understanding of your current and historic experiences and relationships, and what has brought you to therapy, while paying close attention to how comfortable you feel.

I offer a free 30-minute telephone or online conversation to discuss your needs. The 50-minute initial consultation also allows you the time to decide if you feel comfortable enough to continue with weekly sessions.

Once agreed, we will meet on the same day, at the same time, and go at a pace that's right for you.

I have a dedicated downstairs room with a separate entrance with one small step over the threshold. There is a toilet, but unfortunately, this cannot be accessed via a wheelchair.

I am happy to answer any questions via phone or email, and if you leave a message, I will respond once I am available and within working hours.
