About me and my therapy practice

Maria is an Integrative psychotherapist with a keen interest in existential and contemporary psychodynamic perspectives.

Existential therapy explores your sense of agency in the world, enabling you to make your own decisions and choices. Whilst a contemporary psychodynamic approach helps to uncover the attitudes you have about life, love and the things you feel may be missing.

It explores the relationships you have formed in your life and helps you to think about how these relationships may shape the way you think and feel now.

Maria is an accredited member of BACP and holds an MA in Psychotherapy (Regents University of London) and a Diploma in Child Psychotherapy (CPCAB). She has worked with both adults and children, within the NHS, private and charity sectors.

Maria is engaged in ongoing research and continuing professional development to make sure she keeps up to date with new developments within psychotherapy. She aims to ensure that her practice affords the best-informed care possible.

Practice description

Maria runs her private practice in Stamford, Lincolnshire as well as offering online individual psychotherapy sessions from Inner Bloom.

Maria established inner bloom which specialises in psychotherapy and bespoke sound therapy treatments.

Through her practice, Maria aspires to facilitate a safe space for everyone, to enable healing and transformation to take place.

She has a keen interest in fertility; helping women through the process of childbirth, adoption and IVF. She also has experience in neurodiversity and is able to offer support for those seeking psychotherapy from a neurodiverse background.

My first session

Psychotherapy is very much a collaboration between therapist and client. It is not something that is done to you, rather a co-created space and coming together of minds to think through the problems you may face.
Psychotherapy is not an instant fix, it is a process of discovery, helping to establish new ways of being in the world and relating to others. The sessions are very much led by the client, whereby they lead the dialogue and only bring to the sessions what they feel comfortable with. The therapist will direct the dialogue and make interpretations when they feel necessary, to help bring about further insight.

Psychotherapy takes place once a week (sometimes more frequently) and at the same time each week for 50 minutes. Choosing a therapist can be daunting and it is important to choose a therapist you feel you can work with and trust. The better the relationship between client and therapist, the more likely you are to benefit from psychotherapy.
