About me and my therapy practice

Searching for a counsellor can be a daunting experience and finding a good counsellor nearby as well as time to travel to and from the therapy room a challenge. I am very experienced with providing online counselling and have a successful record of working in this way with clients all around the world, making my approach particularly useful for those who live abroad or travel regularly but still want to access counselling.

I do have therapy rooms in South Leicestershire and Rutland (with easy access to A14, A47 and M1) should you prefer your sessions to be in person.

Another challenge is knowing who to choose and what style of counselling to try, there are so many!

Most importantly, find an experienced therapist who makes you feel at ease to enable you to explore your most private problems in a safe environment without judgement. Counselling is a wonderful opportunity to put yourself first, something we all have a right to do.

I've been practicing for 17 years providing counselling and psychotherapy to adults of all ages.

I am trained to work with many issues and not restricted to one specific area so my advice is to reach out to me to discuss your difficulties and we can plan together about how I am best placed to help.

However, it may be of interest to know that I have undertaken additional training as a specialist practitioner in the following subjects:

• Grief, loss, bereavement

• Infertility

• Fertility treatment (IVF, IUI, Surrogacy, Donor Treatment, Implications Counselling)

• Relationship Counselling

I've a high standard of training in a variety of modalities which allows me to integrate my approach. This simply means I'm able to tailor the therapy to suit each individual client.

I am a registered infertility counsellor, accredited with the ‘British Infertility Counselling Association’ (BICA) enabling me to provide implications counselling sessions in line with HFEA guidelines for donation and surrogacy treatments. Contact me to ask any questions or discuss your needs.

Practice description

Searching for a counsellor can be a daunting experience. One of the biggest challenges can be finding a good counsellor nearby and finding time to travel to and from the therapy room. I am very experienced with providing online counselling and have a successful record of working in this way with clients all around the world. This makes my approach particularly useful for those who live abroad or travel regularly but still want to access counselling.

The counselling I provide online is no different from the counselling I provide in person. I understand that for some, meeting via a video link can be daunting. I work to quickly make you feel at ease and clients typically report quite soon that they have forgotten about the screen.

Whilst remembering the importance of effective counselling is to carefully listen and pay attention to my clients, I would describe my style as an interactive one, utilising my skills to work with you by reflecting, challenging, encouraging and sharing.

Practice description

I offer face to face and online counselling and have a successful record of working in such ways with clients around the world.

I love my job and feel privileged to be put in the trusted position of helping and supporting my clients. Of course it is great to work in person but I recognise this is not always possible. Offering online counselling allows flexibility for those with busy lives or who don't live near enough to travel to me but still want to work with me the same opportunities as those who do.

I would describe my style as an interactive one, utilising my skills to work with you by listening carefully, reflecting, challenging, encouraging and sharing.
