About me and my therapy practice

As a man you may be experiencing confusion, stress or despair around your role and how to meet new expectations of emotional openness.

Perhaps it feels like no one understands you and how hard you try to be a good person. Maybe you want to be less stressed and angry, enjoy some inner peace, and rekindle your spark for life again.

Maybe you feel fear, shame or isolation, and just want to be confident and self-assured again. Or you may be a woman seeking to understand the behaviour of men in your life.

I offer in-person and online therapy with adults who are experiencing issues around masculinity. I have personal experience of estranged fatherhood and the family court system.

My approach is holistic and free from dogma — it may include guided meditations if that feels appropriate for you.

I trained as a therapist after a breakdown aged 30. Through therapy I learnt about what was driving my unhealthy behaviours, and this route of healing through self-exploration is my guiding principle because it works. I've seen inspiring transformations in my clients.

Testimonials:

"You gave me my life back."

"I often think of you and the amazing work you did with our son. We are grateful every day to see him happy, confident and resilient, moving forward with his life with renewed vigour. He has a really lovely partner of over a year, a new job which he loves and an inner strength from knowing he brought himself back from the edge of despair with your help. The therapy he experienced with you has proved so potent. You do amazing work and we thank you for it."

"Thank you for all of your help back in 2020, one of the best decisions I made was seeking out help and talking it through with you. Life and my mental state is in such a good place since we spoke and I just wanted to pop you a note to say thank you!"

I ask clients to commit to 6 weekly sessions initially. This is not a quick fix, it requires space and consistency, and a considerable investment of your time and money. If you are local and you have more time but less money I recommend joining a therapy group with me which is lower cost but runs for 2 hours rather than 50 mins.

About me and my therapy practice

I am interested in working with you if you are a counsellor or psychotherapist working in a humanistic, integrative or person centred way with adults.

I specialise in male friendly therapy and male psychology as a therapist in private practise and can offer particular insights and experience in those areas.

You may see me in my office in the centre of Falmouth or work with me online via Zoom.

I use the Seven Eyed Model and the Integrative Developmental Model for supervising counsellors and psychotherapists.

Practice description

I welcome therapists who have just qualified and those who are more established and looking to develop their private practice.

My strength is in offering clinical insights into the interior lives of men so if you are a female therapist wanting to develop your confidence and skills working with men, who are under-serviced by the therapy professions despite their high levels of distress and suicide, I may be able to help.

Equally if you a male trainee feeling out of place or a therapist building your practice I can help.

My first session

After arranging our first session via telephone or email I will send you a contract if we are working online. I will bring a hard copy if we are meeting in person.
