About me and my therapy practice
Couple & Individual therapy. Hi, I am Claire. Originally from Taiwan. I have lived in the UK for 20 years and in a long term cross-culture (Asian-European) relationship . This has enriched my experience and skills in working with couples from mixed-race backgrounds, values systems and (religious) beliefs. I am trained at Regent’s University London and Tavistock Relationships, both are established and respected training organisations. I have, moreover, been practicing as a psychotherapist in London and Bristol for more than a decade.
I have supported my clients with their individual & relationship issues for many years, such as: separation/divorce/co-parenting, partners with neurodivergence (ADHD, Autism) or chronic conditions (depression, back pain, OCD), sexual difficulties, infertility (issues with pregnancy), major life changes (giving birth, loss/grief or relocation/immigration).
Furthermore, I helped many professionals work through their burn out, general anxiety and depression. I am currently working with academics, high tech engineers, corporate and other clients.
I have supported many clients, who relocated from Europe or America or the second generation of immigrants from Asia, to navigate their cultural identity and sense of belonging. On top of that, I have substantial experience of helping clients work though difficult life events: career change, divorce, loss and bereavement as well as fertility issues, etc.
My work is trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming. I use different approaches: CBT, psychodynamic, embodiment, existential, relational and dream work…tailoring therapy to your individual needs. Whatever you find difficult to cope with, counselling is a safe space to help you untangle complicated issues/patterns and support you to restore your well-being so that you can make positive changes.
