About me and my therapy practice

Are you a big-hearted person who feels life deeply? Although your kindness is much needed in the world, you may have been told that you are ‘too sensitive’ or ‘too much’.

Past experiences may have left their mark, leaving you struggling to recover and move forwards. You might be navigating anxiety, panic, painful relationship patterns or the long-term impact of trauma.

I believe that you are already enough, just as you are. Therapy can help to unburden you from the past and empower you with tools and techniques that help you to thrive. I can help you to reduce anxiety or panic, create happier relationships and move towards more calm and joy.

Big feelings are welcomed here and your sensitivity is appreciated and embraced. I offer a somatic therapy (mind and body) approach that is gentle, empowering and transformative.

I can support you to:

Heal from Trauma: We will work to reduce the weight of the past, so that you don’t have to keep carrying it. This can help you to reconnect with parts of yourself that you thought you had lost and to experience greater peace, confidence and joy.

Reduce anxiety and panic: I can help you to understand your anxiety or panic, so that you are better able to manage it. Equipping you with practical somatic tools to help to calm and regulate your nervous system. This can help you to face situations in your life with more confidence, so that you can live a full life again.

Nurture Better Relationships: Together we will unpick painful relationship patterns such as “people pleasing” or cycles of conflict or anxiety. Empowering you to set kind boundaries and create loving connections that actually meet your needs.

Practice description

I began this work because I saw so many kind, sensitive people struggling, convinced there was "something wrong" with them. My goal is to help you build a kinder relationship with yourself and understand your unique nervous system, so you can recover from the past and navigate life’s ups and downs with more confidence and ease.

I am a Counsellor, Trauma Therapist, and Breathwork Physiotherapist (registered with BACP and HCPC). I use my knowledge of mind and body to offer you a range of tools that support your mental and emotional wellbeing. With over 20 years as an NHS healthcare professional and 5,000+ hours of therapy experience, I combine evidence based tools and techniques with a warm, friendly, down to earth approach.

What clients say

“Nicola is wise beyond her years and although her approach is gentle and supportive, it is incredibly powerful.”

“Nicola’s approach felt natural and right and I always felt safe and encouraged.”

“It has made a tremendous difference to me, to be able to talk to and have therapy with Nicola. If you want real change in your life I can recommend Nicola as your guide!”

Your comfort matters

Because we meet online or via phone, you can settle into your sessions from the comfort of your own home, without any travel or parking to navigate. Your dog or cat are welcome along with anything else that makes you more comfortable, such as a cup of tea and a cosy blanket.
