About me and my therapy practice

I am a person-centred therapist offering a warm, confidential and supportive space where you can talk openly about the issues affecting your life. I work with empathy, understanding and without judgement, supporting you to explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences and develop a deeper understanding of yourself.

Rather than offering advice or direct solutions, I work alongside you, helping you gently explore patterns of thinking, feeling and behaviour that may be affecting your wellbeing. Through this process, you can develop greater self-awareness, emotional resilience and a stronger sense of self.

I believe that every person’s experience is unique, and I tailor therapy to your individual needs. Together, we can create a therapeutic relationship that feels safe, respectful and supportive, allowing you the time and space to explore what matters to you.

I offer counselling for individual age 18 and over.

About me and my therapy practice

Do you and your partner find yourselves having the same arguments over and over again, without feeling truly heard or understood? Perhaps you still care deeply about each other but have become caught in patterns of conflict, distance or disconnection. Sometimes conversations quickly become critical or defensive, while at other times one partner may reach out and the other withdraws.

I’m a BACP Registered Counsellor and Psychotherapist with experience supporting people through emotional and relational difficulties. I have developed a particular focus on relationship therapy, working with couples who want to understand what is happening between them and explore whether they can find a more connected way of relating.

I believe couples can become stuck in painful patterns even when both partners genuinely want things to improve. Rather than focusing on who is right or wrong, I help couples recognise the cycle they have become caught in and explore what may be happening underneath the conflict or distance.

I use Imago Relationship Therapy, a structured, relationship-focused approach. Through the Imago Dialogue, I help couples slow conversations down so that each partner has an opportunity to speak, listen and be understood. This can create space for greater curiosity and empathy, helping couples move away from blame and defensiveness towards greater understanding and connection.

My approach is warm, calm and non-judgemental, while also being structured and purposeful. I work with both partners equally and provide a balanced space where each person can explore their experience and feel heard.

You don't need to arrive knowing exactly what is wrong or how to fix your relationship. Many couples come to therapy wondering whether things can really change, particularly when the same difficulties have been going on for a long time. Therapy provides an opportunity to pause, understand the patterns between you and begin exploring new ways of relating.

Practice description

The practice is easily accessible by public transport, with on-street parking available nearby.

Couples sessions are typically 90 minutes and usually take place fortnightly. Sessions provide dedicated time and space to explore your relationship, understand recurring patterns and develop new ways of communicating and connecting.

Further information about Imago Relationship Therapy can be found at www.imagouk.co.uk.

My first session

I offer an initial 60-minute introductory session for couples. This provides an opportunity for both partners to talk about what has brought you to therapy, ask questions and learn more about how I work.

It also gives you the opportunity to experience the Imago approach and consider whether working together feels like the right fit for your relationship. There is no obligation to continue afterwards.

If you would prefer to speak with me before arranging an introductory session, I also offer a free 15-minute telephone call. This is an opportunity to ask questions, briefly discuss what has brought you to therapy and find out more about how I work.
