About me and my therapy practice

My name is Martin, and I’m an accredited BACP and BPC psychodynamic psychotherapist. I have many years experience of working with adults who have faced a wide range of emotional challenges. I provide a warm, thoughtful and confidential space to explore issues such as stress, anxiety, low self-esteem, depression and relationship difficulties etc.

I understand how daunting it might seem to talk about deeply personal matters—especially if these experiences have been tucked away or never spoken about before. Therapy can feel like a big step, and it is. A good one, and although the idea of it maybe scary, we can do this together, at your pace, with you at the helm.

My style is gently curious and reflective and I often take an interest in thoughts, feelings, dreams, metaphors, and ideas that may lead to the problems bringing you to read this today. I see the therapeutic relationship as a collaboration, a creative process of making sense of things that have been troubling you. By doing this together we can aim to improve life, reduce stress or anxiety and help you feel less burdened, lost or low.

Practice description

I offer a confidential, compassionate, and reflective space where you can talk openly about your thoughts and feelings.

As a psychodynamic psychotherapist, I approach therapy by exploring with you themes in your current life that you might be finding difficult, and if so may link to past unresolved matters.

Clients often come to therapy with feelings of anxiety or depression, low self-worth, anger or sadness and a range of other personal things. You don’t need to have a specific diagnosis or clear explanation—only the sense that something isn’t quite right, and a willingness to explore.

When coming to therapy with me you can expect a calm, respectful and non-judgemental environment. I will listen with empathy, care and curiosity to help us understand better what is going on. My style is thoughtful and attentive with the aim of supporting you develop insight, self-awareness, and emotional resilience. Over time, therapy can help you feel more at home in yourself, improve relationships, and live with greater clarity and confidence.

My first session

The first session is a gentle introduction to the therapy process. It's an opportunity for you to share what has brought you to seek support and to explore whether working together feels like a good fit. You don’t need to prepare anything in particular—just come as you are.

There’s no pressure to share everything straight away. The first session is as much about helping you feel safe and understood as it is about gathering information. By the end, we can decide together whether to continue with regular sessions.

I offer supportive psychodynamic, psychoanalytic supervision online to psychotherapists. I am accredited with BAPPS

About me and my therapy practice

Supervision, for me, is a place to pause and think — a space where the complexities of clinical work can be explored with curiosity, openness and without judgement.

My approach is psychodynamic, with an interest in what may be happening beneath the surface of the therapeutic relationship. Together, we can think about your client’s conscious and unconscious world, while also paying close attention to your own emotional responses, uncertainties and the dynamics that may be emerging between you and your client.

I am a fully qualified psychoanalytic supervisor, accredited by the British Association for Psychoanalytic & Psychodynamic Supervision (BAPPS), and offer psychodynamic supervision to psychotherapists at different stages of their professional development, from trainees and newly qualified practitioners through to experienced clinicians wishing to deepen or reflect upon their practice.

My supervisory approach has developed through many years of clinical experience alongside my training with the Society of Analytical Psychology (SAP) in London. This has shaped a way of working that is reflective, flexible and attentive to both the spoken and less easily spoken aspects of therapeutic work.

Whether you are beginning your training, establishing yourself in practice or have been working therapeutically for many years, you are very welcome to get in touch. An initial conversation can give us an opportunity to think about what you are looking for from supervision and whether working together feels like a good fit.

My first session

If you're looking for supervision, we can arrange a brief introductory phone call. This gives us a chance to explore your needs and see if we're a good fit. If it feels right, we can then schedule your first supervision session.
