About me and my therapy practice
When you wake up in the night, does your heart sink at the thought of going to work the next day? Counselling can help you stop worrying and reduce workplace stress. Counselling doesn't have to take up a lot of your time. At most it's just an hour a week and you can book an online session that suits your timetable without the need for travel.
Perhaps you feel overwhelmed by responsibility, feel unsupported, undervalued and dread going in to work. Working with me can transform things by:
- Identifying stressors, develop coping strategies and make better choices.
- Help you set boundaries, be more assertive and manage others' expectations
- Talking through problems without fear of judgment, helping you develop confidence to approach things in a different way leading to a better outcome
- Setting new priorities so that work doesn't take over family life.
Over the years I've witnessed the results of burnout and understand the anxiety, fatigue and hopelessness it involves. I've supported lots of people to make changes at work that have given them more freedom and work life balance. I'd welcome the chance to help you too.
Practice description
Taking that first step to reach out to a professional can feel scary. So perhaps it might help for me to tell you a few things about me.
As well as being a counsellor and psychotherapist, I'm the wife of a retired farmer, a mum and mother in law and carer of various pets (currently a geriatric jack russell and two characterful cats). Before training as a therapist, I had careers in the legal world and education. My main interests are wildlife, nature and books (which seem to be breeding in my home!)
Although my therapeutic approach is professional, it isn't at all stuffy and my conversational style is very down to earth.
Please do get in touch - you don't have to 'go it alone'

About me and my therapy practice
Welcome – I offer specialist online counselling and psychotherapy for women navigating the emotional challenges of midlife - across the UK and abroad
Perhaps your children have grown up, your career no longer fulfils you, your relationship has changed or menopause has left you feeling unlike yourself. From the outside you may appear to be coping well. Inside you feel lost anxious, emotionally drained or uncertain about what comes next.
You may be contemplating a career shift, scaling back from a demanding role, preparing for retirement or reshaping life after children have left home. Together we can clarify what you want this next chapter to look like and support you to take action.
Many of the women I work with tell me:
"I don't recognise myself any more"
"I've spent years looking after everyone else"
"I feel guilty because my life looks good but I'm not happy"
"I'm constantly anxious and I don't know why"
"I know something needs to change but I don't know where to begin"
Before training as a therapist, I made major pivots in my own life including career changes, periods of being a stay at home mum and then adjusting to an empty nest. I know what it’s like to reimagine your life and step into something new. I’ve lived these transitions myself. I've supported lots of people to make changes and I'd love to help you too.
Counselling doesn't have to take up a lot of your time. At most, it's just an hour a week and you can book an online session that fits your schedule and cuts out travel
So please get in touch to either book an introductory call or your first session. I look forward to hearing from you.
Practice description
I work with women experiencing:
• anxiety and overwhelm
• loss of confidence
• relationship difficulties
• empty nest feelings
• menopausal related emotional changes
• career dissatisfaction
• divorce or separation
• grief and loss
• questions about identity and purpose
• feeling stuck despite outward success
Some of the benefits of working with me include:
1. on wanting more meaning - exploration of what genuinely matters to you and what a meaningful way of living could look like.
2. on menopause - emotional/physiological connection, what's shifting and ways to feel like yourself again
3. on relationship difficulties - let's process what's happened, gain a clearer sense of what's needed and move you forward.
4. on empty nest - exploration of who you are now that caregiving isn't filling the space, what you'd like the next chapter to hold and process feelings of loss.
5. on career dissatisfaction - we'll gain clarity on your skills, values and genuinely what matters to you before exploring what direction might fit - moving you from a vague sense of something needs to change into a path you feel confident stepping in to
6. on feeling caught between staying safe and making a change - we'll explore both sides without me pushing you into a decision, moving you forward at a pace that feels right rather than leaving you feeling stuck between the two
7. on ageism or feeling undervalued - we'll look at how you see yourself, and reconnect you with your own capability and worth independent of how others are treating you.
