About me and my therapy practice
Welcome – I offer specialist psychotherapy for women navigating the emotional challenges of midlife.
Perhaps your children have grown up, your career no longer fulfils you, your relationship has changed or menopause has left you feeling unlike yourself. From the outside you may appear to be coping well. Inside you feel lost anxious, emotionally drained or uncertain about what comes next.
You may be contemplating a career shift, scaling back from a demanding role, preparing for retirement or reshaping life after children have left home. Together we can clarify what you want this next chapter to look like and support you to take action.
Many of the women I work with tell me:
"I don't recognise myself any more"
"I've spent years looking after everyone else"
"I feel guilty because my life looks good but I'm not happy"
"I'm constantly anxious and I don't know why"
"I know something needs to change but I don't know where to begin"
Before training as a psychotherapist, I made major pivots in my own life including career changes, periods of being a stay at home mum and then adjusting to an empty nest. I know what it’s like to reimagine your life and step into something new. I’ve lived these transitions myself.
If you would like to work with me to understand yourself more deeply and create a more authentic way of living, please get in touch

About me and my therapy practice
Welcome – I’m Maxine Robertson, a psychotherapist working with women navigating change.
If you’re a woman at a crossroads in life or work you may find yourself wondering, “what now?”. Something inside is nudging you towards a next chapter that feels more meaningful or aligned with who you are now.
I specialise in working with women in the second half of life who are contemplating change – career shifts, scaling back from demanding roles, preparing for retirement or reshaping life after children have left home. Together we can clarify what you want this next chapter to look like and support you to take values aligned action.
My approach is not just about goal setting for the future but also looks at what’s going on under the surface such as understanding shifts in identity, why your life feels different, understanding patterns of behaviour, hidden fears, inner conflict and questions emotions and meanings
Before training as a psychotherapist, I made major pivots in my own life including career changes, periods of being a stay at home mum and then adjusting to an empty nest. I know what it’s like to reimagine your life and step into something new. I’ve lived these transitions myself.
