About me and my therapy practice

I am a BACP-accredited integrative counsellor and psychotherapist, with over ten years of experience. I provide a calm and professional space for us to explore and work through the various issues in your life.

I am qualified with a Master’s Degree with Distinction, and my integrative approach combines person-centred therapy, cognitive-behavioural therapy and attachment theory. This broad approach will help me to find the right form of therapy for you, so that we can work together on whichever issues are troubling you.

Counselling can be richly rewarding, helping you to gain a new understanding of your past and a more positive vision of your future. Our early life experiences often influence our beliefs about ourselves as adults. We may feel we should be different, or notice that we tend to see things in an overly negative light.

I can help you to interpret situations in a more balanced way, to make positive changes in your life, and to move towards personal growth and healing.

Practice description

Counselling can support you with a wide range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, stress, self-harm, relationship challenges, loneliness, low self-esteem, bereavement, intrusive thoughts and trauma. Sessions last 50 minutes, and are usually held weekly.

Our work together is collaborative and paced around you. We will explore what feels most important at your own speed, with space to make sense of difficult thoughts, feelings and experiences. This will help you to develop greater understanding of yourself, and move towards meaningful, lasting change.

My first session

The first session is an initial assessment. This is a space to talk about what's brought you to therapy and what you would like to get from it. We will also go through my therapy contract, which covers how I work together with clients, and any important practical details for our sessions. It's a chance for you to see how it feels working with me, and to ask any questions. We will also briefly cover confidentiality and how your information is kept safe.
