About me and my therapy practice

I am an experienced Integrative Counsellor with 8 years' clinical experience specialising in Integrative Psychotherapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy with particular interests in working with self-esteem difficulties, anxiety and abuse.

I specialise in Integrative Psychotherapy which means I do not stick to one type of therapy but integrate different therapeutic modalities to suit your needs. I am trained in and draw most heavily upon Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Emotion-Focused Therapy.

However, I am a strong believer in the uniqueness of each client I see and the right for each person to feel in control of their therapy. The most important thing to me is to build a safe therapeutic relationship where clients can feel heard, supported and empowered.

I specialise in working with anxiety, self-esteem difficulties, and supporting clients with the impacts of difficult life events in childhood or adulthood such as abuse, loss or trauma. I am also experienced in working with stress, burnout, panic attacks, grief, and depression.

I aim to build an empathic, respectful and collaborative relationship with my clients, working towards helping clients live the lives they want to live.

I also specialise in Mindfulness techniques, I am a qualified yoga teacher and can integrate this into therapy. I am also a published mental health researcher. My doctoral thesis investigates resilience in women exposed to trauma and abuse.

I trained in Australia and have completed a Master of Counselling and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Psychology. I have won multiple counselling awards including the PACFA Outstanding Graduate Award 2017 and BACP New Researcher Award 2020.

I have worked in Employee Assistance Programs, Schools, NHS, and Staff Psychology. I currently am completing a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology where I work in the NHS and complete research, as well as running my private practice.

Practice description

I offer flexible appointments for either brief or long-term therapy. I offer only video sessions for £85 and have current availability on Fridays and some evenings.

Please do feel free to get in touch via the enquiry form and I'll send you an email to discuss the potential session times that suit you or answer any questions.

I also very much like to offer a free 15-minute phone call so you can ask questions about how I work and we can discuss whether we might want to book a first session together.

My first session

During first appointments, I would complete an assessment with you to fully understand the difficulties you are experiencing so that we can collaboratively decide what you would like to achieve from therapy and the way we will tackle this together (how many sessions, approach etc). If we then decided the fit was right, we could agree to ongoing sessions either short term or long term and at weekly or fortnightly frequency.
