About me and my therapy practice
Are you considering therapy but feeling unsure about how to choose the right therapist? You're not alone, it's one of the most common things that holds people back from taking that first step.
Let me introduce myself. I'm Fatima, a qualified Psychotherapist and a registered member of the BACP. For over a decade, I have worked therapeutically with adults and young people across a range of settings, including the NHS and universities.
I am trained in a range of therapeutic modalities as I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all model of therapy. Instead, I take the time to understand what you're carrying, and we work together to find a path forward that's right for you. However, at the heart of my approach is the belief that the relationship between therapist and client is the foundation of any meaningful therapeutic experience.
I offer both short and long-term therapy, tailored to your individual needs. We'll discuss what you're looking for from the outset, and regularly review how things are going. This ensures we're always moving you toward your goals and working in a way that feels right for you.
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) or "Tapping"
In addition to traditional therapy approaches, I am a EFT Practitioner.
EFT (sometimes known as Tapping) involves gently tapping on specific meridian points on the body while focusing on intense thoughts, emotions, or memories. This process helps bring those experiences into consciousness, enabling you to process them and replace negative patterns with positive reinforcement. When combined with traditional talking therapies, EFT can be particularly powerful in helping to overcome both emotional and physical barriers to wellbeing.
EFT is particularly beneficial for:
Stress · Anxiety · Improving memory and focus · PTSD · Trauma · Chronic pain · Weight management · Phobias · Addictions

Practice description
Individual Therapy
Therapy provides a confidential and safe space for you to explore the issues causing you difficulty - so you can begin creating the change you're looking for.
I genuinely want to understand you. My aim is to create an environment where you can be yourself without fear of criticism or judgement, and where your perspective and experiences are truly heard. I'm committed to understanding the challenges you face, and to supporting you in working through them - developing self-understanding, and exploring different ways of thinking and being, to create lasting change in your life.
Couples Therapy
Every relationship goes through changes - times of closeness and times of distance, moments of clarity and periods of confusion. Wherever you are in your journey together, therapy can offer a safe, supportive space to reconnect, communicate, and grow.
When Might Couples Therapy Help?
At the start of your relationship
Beginning therapy early isn't a sign that something is wrong — it's a sign that you're committed to building something strong. Early in a relationship, therapy can help you understand each other's communication styles, values, and needs, laying a healthy foundation for the years ahead.
Navigating change together
Relationships are rarely static. Moving in together, getting married, having children, career changes, loss, or simply growing as individuals — these transitions can place unexpected strain on even the closest partnerships. Therapy can help you navigate change as a team, rather than feeling pulled apart by it.
When you're in crisis
If you're experiencing persistent conflict, a breakdown in communication, a breach of trust, or a sense of growing apart, it can feel overwhelming. This is often the moment people seek therapy — and it's never too late to reach out. With the right support, many couples find their way back to each other.
My first session
A Free 20-Minute Phone Consultation
I offer a complimentary 20-minute phone consultation to anyone considering therapy. This is a relaxed, informal call — an opportunity for you to share a little about what's brought you to therapy, ask any questions you might have, and get a sense of whether we might be a good fit. We'll arrange an initial assessment session from there.
The Initial Assessment
The assessment session lasts approximately 50 minutes and is offered at a discounted rate. It is intentionally informal, a chance for us to begin getting to know one another.
During this session, I'll listen carefully to what's bringing you to therapy and start to understand your experience in a deeper way. Most importantly, it's an opportunity for us both to reflect on whether we feel we could work well together. There's no expectation to commit to anything beyond this session until you feel ready. If we do decide to go ahead, we'll book our first session.
