About me and my therapy practice
I work with adults 18+. I can provide a non-judgmental space to reflect on emotional distress so that you can move forward in a mindful and positive way. I am a psychodynamic counsellor with 8 years of experience. I understand that making the first steps in reaching out for help takes courage. Be reassured that we will work together on your therapeutic journey towards your goals. My aim is to help you grow and develop and build your emotional wellbeing.
I have worked in non-profit and educational settlings. I have extensive experience of working with clients who have experienced bereavement.
Contactable at charlotte@yamc.co.uk
I charge between £50 - £70 on a sliding scale. We would agree a fee in your first session. Some concessionary rates available if you are a full time student, have a low income, or are out of work.
Practice description
My masters is in Psychodynamic counselling. I am BACP registered. Psychodynamic counselling is a supportive process which helps you understand how your current feelings and behaviour are shaped by your past experiences. In your first session we can explore how you see yourself, how you see the world and your place in it. Sessions will be led by you, and we will work at your pace and focus on the difficulty you would like help with.
I have a therapeutic room in Barnet for face to face sessions. I also work online, and walk and talk in North London Parks.
My first session
Before our first session, I offer a free 15 minute telephone consultation, this gives you an opportunity to briefly outline your current circumstances and enables me to consider if I might be able to help you.
In our first session, we would further explore what brings you to therapy at this particular time. The session would last 50 minutes. This session will be a therapeutic assessment in which we will identify what you want from the counselling. In this session, I will outline the practicalities for our work so that we can work both safely and ethically.
We would then have a chance to think about how you feel about us working together.
