About me and my therapy practice

Hello, my name is Lynn Turner and I am a BACP Accredited counsellor specialising in recovery‑focused counselling for narcissistic abuse, addiction, and mental health recovery. I work with adults face to face and online, supporting clients across the UK and internationally.

I offer a safe, confidential, and non‑judgemental space where you can feel heard, understood, and supported. Many people come to counselling feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, or unsure how to move forward. You may be struggling with anxiety or low mood, recovering from addiction, or healing from an emotionally abusive or manipulative relationship. Whatever brings you, you do not have to face it alone.

People seek counselling for many reasons, including feeling stuck, distressed, confused, or impacted by trauma or difficult life experiences. My role is to listen with care, help you make sense of what is happening for you, and support you to explore your options and goals in a way that feels safe and manageable.

I believe that meaningful change grows from a counselling relationship that feels authentic, honest, and emotionally safe. I work at a pace that suits you and do not believe in a “one‑size‑fits‑all” approach. Each client is unique, and my work draws on integrative therapeutic methods, thoughtfully adapted to your individual needs and circumstances.

Our first meeting is an assessment session, offering time for us to explore what has brought you to counselling and whether working together feels right. There is no pressure to talk about anything before you feel ready, and your pace and boundaries are respected throughout.

I believe in empowering clients and supporting you to reconnect with your own strengths, self‑worth, and inner resources. I am not the expert on your life — you are — but I am here to help you understand yourself more deeply and support you while change unfolds.

My first session

Our first meeting will be an assessment session (50 minutes for individuals and 1 hour for couples). This initial session offers an opportunity for us to get to know one another, explore what has brought you to counselling, and consider how we might work together. It also gives you space to decide whether counselling with me feels right for you.

I work at a pace that suits you and respect that everyone’s needs and experiences are different. I do not believe in a “one‑size‑fits‑all” approach, and my work draws on integrative therapeutic methods, thoughtfully adapted to your individual circumstances. There is no expectation to talk about anything before you feel ready.

I believe in empowering clients and supporting you to recognise your own strengths, insight, and potential. I am not the expert on your life — you are — but I am here to help you understand yourself more deeply, identify what may be contributing to your difficulties, and support you while change takes place.

You decide the focus and goals of each session. Counselling can support greater self‑awareness, self‑esteem, and confidence, and help you recognise and move away from unhelpful or repeating patterns of behaviour. Over time, this can lead to healthier ways of relating to yourself and others, and a more balanced and fulfilling life.
