About me and my therapy practice

Recovering from a toxic relationship, depression, anxiety or grief? You don't have to carry it alone.

Hello, I'm Lynn — a BACP counsellor with over 25 years' experience, specialising in recovery from narcissistic abuse and emotionally abusive relationships, alongside anxiety, depression, addiction recovery and grief. I work with adults, in person and online, supporting clients across the UK and internationally.

I can help you with:

• Recovery from narcissistic abuse and toxic, controlling or emotionally abusive relationships

• Anxiety, stress and worry

• Depression and low mood

• Grief, loss and bereavement

• Addiction recovery

• Low self-esteem, confidence and rebuilding healthy boundaries

Whatever has brought you here, my role is to listen with genuine care, help you make sense of what you're feeling, and gently support you to rebuild your life at a pace that feels right for you.

I offer a warm, confidential and non-judgemental space where you can feel truly heard, understood and safe. I don't believe in a 'one-size-fits-all' approach — each person is unique, so I draw on integrative, person-centred methods, thoughtfully adapted to you.

Our first meeting is a relaxed assessment session: a chance to explore what's brought you to counselling and see whether working together feels right. There's no pressure to share anything before you're ready, and your pace and boundaries are always respected.

If any of this resonates, I'd warmly welcome you to get in touch. Taking the first step can feel daunting — but you don't have to do it alone.

My first session

Reaching out for support can feel like a big step — often the hardest part is simply making that first call or sending that first message. If you've found your way here, you've already shown real courage, and I want you to know you'll be met with warmth, not judgement.

Your first session is a relaxed assessment session — 50 minutes for individuals, 1 hour for couples. There's no pressure and nothing you "should" say. It's simply a chance for us to get to know one another, for you to share as much or as little as you feel ready to, and to explore together what's brought you here and what you're hoping for from counselling or psychotherapy.

Many people feel nervous or unsure before a first session — that's completely normal, and I'll do all I can to help you feel at ease. With over 25 years' experience, I offer a calm space where you can feel genuinely heard, understood and safe, at a pace that always feels right for you.

Everything you share is completely confidential and private — what's said between us stays between us, within a safe, professional and ethical framework. This is your space, and your trust means a great deal to me.

This is also your chance to see how it feels to work with me and to ask any questions. There's no obligation to continue — it's entirely your choice whether it feels like the right fit. My hope is simply that you leave feeling a little lighter, and hopeful that things can change.

The assessment session is charged at the standard session rate. From there, if it feels right, we'll gently agree together how you'd like to move forward.

Taking that first step is never easy — but you don't have to do it alone. I'd be honoured to walk alongside you.
