About me and my therapy practice

Hello and welcome! I’m a UKCP-accredited therapist with over 10 years of experience providing counselling and psychotherapy for adults and young people. I have a friendly, down-to-earth approach and offer a high professional standard of confidentiality and integrity. I’ll work alongside you to understand what you need as an individual, tailoring therapy to meet your unique requirements.

I work on a one-to-one basis from a calm and comfortable garden studio in Hanwell, W7. In my work, I have helped people improve their emotional well-being and overcome a broad range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, difficulties at home and work, isolation, emotional overwhelm, or perhaps a feeling that something isn't quite right but not knowing why.

I have a wide range of skills and knowledge, which allows me to work in ways that will suit you and support you to discover your inner resources. My approach is built upon the belief that each person has the potential to understand themselves and solve their problems within the support of a warm and trusting counselling relationship.

I also work with young people aged 11+, supporting them with issues such as anxiety, low self-esteem, anger, panic attacks, and self-harm. I have many years of experience working with young people through my roles at a youth charity, in mainstream secondary schools, and my current position as Therapeutic Lead at an alternative provision (PRU), where I set up and continue to run the counselling service.

Whatever your reason for seeking counselling, I look forward to hearing from you.

Practice description

I offer face-to-face sessions in my garden studio located in Hanwell. I also offer sessions over the phone or via Zoom video sessions.

My first session

Deciding to start counselling is a courageous step but it can feel daunting, wondering where to start in your search for a counsellor.

I offer a FREE 15 minute initial telephone consultation where we can explore the issues you're facing and I can let you know if I think I can help.

If we feel we will work well together, we can arrange a time for an initial session costing £70. During this session, I may ask you some questions about what has brought you to counselling and your expectations for therapy. I can also let you know more about the way I work and we can decide if we think we will be a good fit.

About me and my therapy practice

Hello and welcome to my supervision practice!

With over 10 years’ experience as a qualified therapist, I’ve worked with both adults and young people across a range of settings, including charities, mainstream schools, pupil referral units, and private practice. I’d love to share what I’ve learned and support you as you grow and develop in your work with clients.

I hold a diploma in clinical supervision, having trained at The Awareness Centre. My supervision practice and personal philosophy are grounded in Rogers’ person-centred approach. I also draw on other models, such as Hawkins and Shohet’s Seven-Eyed Model of Supervision, and offer creative methods of expression to provide a flexible approach that supports your preferred way of working. I am in regular supervision of supervision and I abide by the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy and am subject to its complaints procedure.

My private practice is primarily with adults and trainee therapists, so I welcome supervisees who currently work with adults or are looking to do so. Having set up and run a school counselling service where I work as Therapeutic Lead, and as a member of the panel of approved supervisors for Hounslow Youth Counselling Service, I also welcome enquiries from school and youth counsellors, as well as therapists with an interest in this area.

Practice description

Safety:

I encourage you to bring all aspects of your work to supervision, what’s going well, and what feels more challenging. I believe that mistakes can offer valuable growth opportunities when explored within a compassionate and non-judgemental space.

You won’t be left to manage risk or safeguarding concerns on your own. If something urgent comes up between sessions, you’re welcome to get in touch. I’m here to support you.

Space:

I aim to offer fresh perspectives on client work and the relationships around it, while also holding space to reflect on issues of equality, diversity, and inclusion as an integral part of our work together.
