Availability
I am only offering online counselling for those in the London area at the moment. I have limited availability, primarily on Wednesdays during the day but this does change so please do reach out and see how I may be able to accommodate your schedule. I do not have any evening availability at the moment and I do not work on weekends.
About me and my therapy practice
(he/him) When I hear the phrase mental health struggles I often think of the tension, anxiety and exhaustion that people from some communities feel living in a hostile environment. I think you deserve to feel safer and I am committed to offering a less threatening space where you can exist more freely.
This extends particularly to people who face sexism, racism or transphobia and those who feel excluded from normative spaces that can't accommodate your ways of moving, thinking or feeling.
Our sessions together can be different.
There isn't a right way to do therapy and it can feel terrifying to start. Our own differences may also make it feel even riskier. I hope that by being open to this we can come to a place of mutual trust where we can speak about what you need. The way I work may not be right for you and I hope we can explore this openly.
Like many families, societies pathologize what they can't handle. We often internalise this and come to see ourselves as the problem. This can create a lot of pressure to be someone else, to change how you behave or feel.
The effects of this can sometimes be hard to track but often it's the symptoms of this pressure that bring people to therapy. Stress, numbness, anger, anxiety or depression. You may not know what to do to change any of those feelings. In my experience answers start to appear once you feel safe.
It is important to me that you can share yourself freely at the pace you want to without fear of judgement, rejection or other defensive reactions you may have experienced.
How we do that together is something we can speak about more when we meet.
I am a BACP accredited therapist currently working as lecturer on a Person-Centred Counselling course in addition to my work in anti-racism for the therapy community. My practice is trauma-informed. I am LGBTQIA+ allied, support racial justice and hold an anti-ableist view of neuro-divergence. I am collapse aware and committed to climate justice.

Practice description
I work face to face but I continue to find online counselling equally rewarding.
I practice from New Road Psychotherapy at 73 Church road in Hove as well as 198 Church Rd. in Hove. It is a newly renovated and wheelchair accessible building.
Both are serviced by the 1, 1a, 6 and 49 bus routes (alight between Sackville Road and George Street for 198). We are about 5mins drive from Hove railway station. Pay & display parking is directly outside the practice and in several nearby streets as well as across the road at Tesco's.
