Availability
I work in-person and online from Zoom. My availability tends to be weekday daytimes (10am-3pm). My in-person locations are in North Finchley, N12 and High Barnet, EN5.
About me and my therapy practice
Whatever you bring, I'll welcome you with curiosity rather than judgement, and provide you with a warm and confidential space to talk. This helps us to form a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship which is the foundation for you to able to truly explore together and work through what is troubling you. I practise integratively, using CBT, Psychodynamic and Person Centred approaches, which allows me to work flexibly based on your own needs. I work in a relational way which means that the relationship between us is key to growing awareness and understanding. This understanding is the basis for us to then develop the tools together to help you move forward. My aim is to support and empower you to find your way through the difficulties you're facing. I work with adults on a one-to-one basis and offer short or long term support, both in-person and online via Zoom.
My first session
Our first session is an opportunity for you to meet with me, take in the practice environment and get a sense of what it would feel like for us to work together. This session will last for 50 minutes and will be a chance for both of us to talk a little more, at your pace, about what has led you to seek support. There won't be a formal assessment that I ask you to complete, but rather, as we sit together I'll ask you some questions to help me get an idea of your history and how that has impacted on you in the present day. These would be questions around your family life growing up, relationship history, any significant events in your life. From exploring these aspects of life, very often themes can emerge that could be helpful for us to explore and can provide direction in our work together. By the end of our first session you will have an idea of whether you'd like to continue working with me, and if you're happy to, we can make arrangements for regular sessions at a time that works for us both.
