About me and my therapy practice

My name is Michaela and I appreciate you stopping by and looking at my profile.  Maybe you are feeling stuck, confused, at a crossroads in life or overwhelmed?  Perhaps you are struggling with your mental health, feeling anxious, low, experiencing OCD, or battling with the impact of trauma, abuse or neglect?

With over 12 years experience, I can help you work through any issues that are causing you difficulty.  Together we can explore ways to help you move forward and develop confidence, resilience, understanding and lasting change.

I am a BACP Accredited Integrative Counsellor, Supervisor and Coach offering Counselling/Psychotherapy, Coaching and CBT.  I also provide Equine Facilitated Interactions, having qualified in 2022 as and EFT.

I like to bring creative ways of working into therapy and supervision, if this is an approach you resonate with.

I have worked within a charitable setting as a trauma informed therapist for over 13 years, supporting those impacted by CSA and other sexual trauma, with a good understanding of the criminal justice system.

Availability

I currently have availability for qualified or trainee therapists who require clinical supervision either in person or on-line.

I work Monday - Thursday between the hours of 8 am and 8 pm.

About me and my therapy practice

I am a BACP Accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist and L6 Supervisor, working in person and online.  I am trauma informed, having worked in this area for over 12 years within a specialist organisation, and alongside private practice.

As a Supervisor I provide a collaborative, supportive and ethically grounded space to both trainee and qualified supervisees.  Through an integrative approach which draws on, but is not limited to, Psychodynamic, CBT, Person-centred and Existential modalities. I also like to bring a more creative approach to supervision, should that appeal to you.

I tailor supervision to each supervisees needs and my approach is warm and non-judgemental, providing learning, reflection and growth, whilst being appropriately challenging.  I support supervisees with the relational dynamics, transference and counter-transference, ethical considerations and the emotional impact of their work.

Creating a safe space for supervisees to reflect and develop confidence, integrate theories and have ethical clarity in their practice.  Enabling supervisees to bring complexity, uncertainty and vulnerability, which in turn helps foster resilience and self-awareness, thus creating a sustainable practice.

I offer fortnightly or monthly supervision appointments dependant on need. I work in a way that suits your practice and your requirements from supervision.

I bring a passion for the work into my supervision practice and my aim is to support you in supporting your clients, whilst enabling you to continue to grow as the unique counsellor/ psychotherapist you are.
