Sessions from £60.00

Features

  • Flexible hours available

Availability

Online and phone sessions available UK-Wide. Face to face sessions in Bridgwater, Somerset.

I have a selection of sessions available throughout the week covering morning, day time and evening.

I work with adult clients (18+) on a one to one basis (please note, I am not a couples counsellor)

I'm an independent counsellor so you won't find me on sites such as Better Help etc. By remaining independent I've found that I can provide the highest quality of therapy for my clients.

About me and my therapy practice

If you need to talk I’m here to listen. Whatever you are dealing with, if you reach out to me I'll do my best to help.

I'm a friendly & approachable Person Centred counsellor with nine years experience in private practice.

What brings you here? Clients often reach out as they are facing issues they can't resolve on their own. This can result in a sense of being frustrated & stuck, anxious or depressed. We may be self critical which can impact self esteem and confidence. We can also be affected with overthinking and exhaustion. I'm sorry if you are struggling at the moment. How can I help you?

How can I help? As an experienced counsellor in private practice, I work with clients experiencing a wide range of issues. Person Centred therapy is flexible and highly effective, it takes account of our individuality and uniqueness. We all have our own individual story & experiences - along with the unique effect its had on us.

Person Centred couselling is not just about your internal thoughts and feelings. The whole of our lives have an affect on us - sometimes positive, sometimes negative. This type of therapy gives you the freedom to talk through any aspect of your life - say your relationships, career, home, finance or family.

Issues that typically come up in therapy could be around: work stress, burn out, anxiety, depression, trauma, an accident, separation, bereavement, caring for someone else, challenging work culture etc.

I provide therapy for men and women. Its generally recognised that women tend to be better at talking through the issues they face & getting additional help when needed. Men can find it harder to talk about their problems and access support - this may mean that issues can get very serious before a man considers therapy. Getting the right help at the right time can make all the difference.

I've had plenty of women getting in contact looking to initiate counselling for a man in their life - be that a son, husband, partner, brother or father.

I'll support you so that you can develop the right approach for your unique situation. I aim to help you strengthen your resilience and ability to cope, resolve inner conflict, and overcome obstacles.

We all have our unique story and unique experiences, and I have often found recurring themes arise in the therapy room that have affected many of us at one point or another - for example issues around feeling overwhelmed, anxiety, depression, loss, bereavement, loneliness, work, stress, health, self-esteem, being stuck, relationships etc - you are not alone if you've been struggling with any of these feelings. We can explore these things together, identify what is causing you distress, and work towards resolution.

My first session

Our first session is a great opportunity to see how compatible we are to take a therapeutic journey together. During this first appointment, I'd like to understand what has brought you to counselling. I'd also like to understand your aspirations for therapy. We'll also have the chance to discuss the more practical elements of our sessions - things like appointment times, fees and confidentiality.

Client Recommendations - the following are reviews from clients made on Google for my Counselling Practice - Green Lodge Counselling

N  The sessions I had with Alex at Green Lodge were invaluable to helping me through a period of severe depression. Very professional and encourages a constructive mindset in a relaxed trusting environment. Thank you for your help Alex really appreciated.

I have been having therapy for over a year with Alex and was reluctant to do so as most men are!

My symptoms and triggering are all but gone thanks to Alex and his guidance and tools enabling me to become aware of my actions and feelings.

I would recommend Alex to anyone. His style of relaxed self-healing therapy and insightful skill and deep knowledge suited me perfectly. Thanks Alex.

My counselling sessions with Alex, have undoubtedly given me much more confidence and clarity, in facing my daily challenges. My friends have noticed, how much less anxious, I have become, these days. I truly appreciate his patience and expertise, in starting a healing process for me. I found it a very calming environment and very worthwhile.

H This place has a great air of calm. Alex is a tremendous counsellor. I feel safe and confident to speak and say what I want at my own pace, there is no pressure. I feel my life is quietly and gently improving with each session I attend.

My first session

Getting started:

We get a chance to meet each other in our first session. It's a great opportunity to see how we feel about taking a therapeutic journey together. Collaboratively we'll look at how we work together - things like appointment times, how frequently you would like sessions, fees and confidentiality. I'd like to hear about what has brought you to counselling, and what you would like from counselling.

Supportive session atmosphere:

The atmosphere of our counselling sessions is friendly and informal. You’ll have a confidential & safe space where you can feel valued, heard, understood & accepted. I am by nature a good listener, empathic and non-judgmental. You choose what you want to discuss. You choose how much you want to share. We work at your pace. You'll have a place to offload, a space to vent.

Making initial contact: If you have read this far I want to reiterate I always do my best in supporting my clients to have the best therapy possible. It's not always easy reaching out for support, so bear in mind I'll do my best to put you at ease so you can start therapy.

I have an online session availability calendar accessible via my website. Its very straightforward to find a session and book using the online calendar with just a few clicks. My email is greenlodgecounselling@gmail.com . If you prefer to phone my number is 07824112573.

If you think I can help please get in touch. I look forward to hearing from you.
