Practice description

Are you seeking help with issues and problems that have not gone away that have left you feeling sad, anxious, stressed, angry or the onset of depression? Has life, work or a relationship break up affected your self-confidence? Questioning the meaning of life? Are you feeling anxiety, depression or low self-esteem?

The therapeutic relationship in counselling can be an insightful way to bring about change. My experience has shaped a non-judgmental approach that is congruent and empathetic. We sometimes find ourselves with relationship decisions or suffering a loss or bereavement which is debilitating leading us to question life.

My experience of addictive behaviour helps with exploring how our history and personality influences current situations. Understanding these links can bring clarity and enable us to make positive changes.

Through the course of life, I have experienced dyslexia observing the fear and shame that partners this gift. Dyslexia can influence our lives in an unconscious way. Exploring how dyslexia influences our behaviour can bring insight and acceptance.

As we age and grow older our goals and expectations for life changes - Career choices, thoughts of changing job/profession, to enter a committed relationship, to have children or to separate/divorce from a relationship. Counselling facilitates a therapeutic environment where change can be imagined and formed into choices that are in the here and now. Seeking therapy in later life can lead to acceptance of life's journey so far, centre on the present and imagine the future.

Have old coping mechanisms returned - eating unhealthily, drinking too much and excess online activity has left you feeling guilty and ashamed. Family issues and partnership relationships are especially stressed in these current times, perhaps finding you have 'no space for yourself'.
