About me and my therapy practice

Online Counselling & Psychotherapy

May I start by asking you a question?

How are you? And I mean, how are you really feeling, beneath the surface?

What have you been carrying emotionally? Is there something weighing on your mind, something you've been struggling to make sense of, or perhaps feelings you've found difficult to share with those around you?

Sometimes, having a safe space to offload, talk openly and feel genuinely heard can make all the difference.

Perhaps it's time to give yourself that opportunity, with someone who can listen, understand and support you.

Taking that first step can feel daunting. You might not even know where to begin or how to put your feelings into words. That's absolutely okay. Counselling offers you a confidential, supportive space where you can begin to make sense of what's happening, explore what's underneath the surface and start moving towards meaningful change.

A space where you can feel heard, understood and supported.

Practice description

I'm Rebecca, an experienced Integrative Counselling Psychotherapist and founder of Empathic Connections Counselling®.

I believe that everyone deserves to feel understood, valued and emotionally supported. My approach is compassionate, empathetic and non-judgemental, recognising that your experiences are unique and that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to emotional wellbeing.

Together, we can explore what's troubling you, understand how past experiences might be influencing your present and develop greater awareness of the thoughts, feelings and patterns that may be holding you back.

My aim isn't simply to help you manage difficult emotions, but to support you in developing a deeper understanding of yourself.

I hold a Bachelor's Honours degree in Counselling from the University of Greenwich and am a registered member of the BACP.

Over the years, I've supported a diverse range of adults and adolescents from different backgrounds and walks of life. My experience spans community-based support, youth mental health services and private practice.

As an Integrative Counselling Psychotherapist, I draw upon several therapeutic approaches, tailoring our work to your individual needs:

Person-Centred Therapy: Providing a warm, accepting and non-judgemental space where you can explore your feelings at your own pace.

Psychodynamic Therapy: Exploring how past experiences, childhood relationships and unconscious patterns may be influencing your present-day thoughts, feelings and relationships.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT): Understanding the relationship between your thoughts, emotions and behaviours, and developing healthier ways of responding to life's challenges.

I believe meaningful change often begins when we feel safe enough to understand ourselves more deeply.

Alongside my counselling practice, I create meditation and healing music.

Areas of specialism: Anxiety, Depression, Childhood Trauma, Adult survivors of childhood abuse, relationships, dysfunctional family, estrangement

My first session

Would you like to talk?

If something in these words resonates with you, I'd love to hear from you.

You are welcome to get in touch for an initial conversation about how counselling might support you.

Once we have had our initial talk for 20 minutes, which is free of charge, you are then welcome to book in for your first therapy session.  In this first session, we explore an overview of your life, and the struggles you are facing, and then create a plan together as a way forward.
