About me and my therapy practice
I’m an integrative counsellor with over 15 years’ experience working in mental health settings and more than 8 years in private practice. I work with adults and young people (15+) both online and in-person in Bristol.
Before retraining as a counsellor, I worked as a service manager for a local mental health charity (Changes Bristol), supporting people experiencing a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties. Alongside private practice, I’ve worked within addiction services and organisations supporting young people’s mental health.
I have always been drawn to understanding people’s histories, relationships, and what shapes the way we experience ourselves and others. At the heart of my work is the belief that people are capable of meaningful change, and that therapy can offer a space for deeper understanding, healing, and growth.
Many people come to therapy feeling unsure whether their struggles are “serious enough”, worried about being judged, or uncertain about trusting someone new. I work gently and collaboratively to create a space where you can feel safe, respected, and heard. Building trust takes time, and I aim to work at a pace that feels manageable for you.
As an integrative counsellor, I draw from Gestalt, Person-Centred and Psychodynamic approaches, tailoring therapy to your individual needs rather than following one fixed model. Alongside therapeutic exploration, I may also offer practical tools and psychoeducation where helpful, including support around anxiety, emotional regulation, trauma, relationships, addiction and neurodiversity.

Practice description
I offer short and long-term counselling for adults and young people (15+) experiencing a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties.
Some of the areas I work with include anxiety, trauma, stress and burnout, self-esteem, relationship difficulties, family issues, grief and loss, loneliness, addiction, and feelings of being stuck or overwhelmed.
My approach is relational, reflective, and collaborative. Together we may explore how past experiences and relationships have shaped you, how you’ve adapted to cope, and any patterns that may be affecting your current life and relationships. I believe therapy is not only about managing symptoms, but also about developing greater self-awareness, understanding, and compassion towards yourself.
Alongside deeper therapeutic work, I can also offer practical support and psychoeducation where useful, helping you make sense of emotional responses, relationship dynamics, boundaries, neurodiversity, and stress or trauma responses in everyday life.
Sessions are 50 minutes and available online or in-person at The Practice Rooms in Southville.
Further information about sessions, fees, and FAQs can be found on my website
My first session
I understand that starting therapy with someone new can be daunting, particularly if you’ve never experienced it before. The first session is an opportunity for us to begin to get to know each other and explore what has brought you to therapy at this point in your life.
I will ask you questions about the difficulties you’ve been experiencing, your relationships and any relevant background information. We will also talk about your goals for the future and what you hope to gain from therapy. There is no pressure to share everything straight away, we can work at the pace that feels right for you.
Before booking a first session I offer a free initial phone call. This is a chance for me to get more of a sense of what you’re struggling with and an opportunity for you to get a sense of how I work and whether I feel like the right fit for you.
