About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I’m Nadeem (Nad) Ahmed, an accredited integrative therapist working with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD and other emotional difficulties.
I understand that reaching out for support can feel like a big step, so I aim to offer a calm, down-to-earth space where you can talk openly and feel heard without judgement.
My approach is integrative, with a foundation in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I draw on CBT alongside counselling techniques to help you make sense of what you’re experiencing, understand unhelpful thought patterns and develop practical ways of coping in day-to-day life. Sessions are shaped around you, at a pace that feels comfortable.
I have several years’ experience working in private mental health settings, supporting people with a range of presentations, including anxiety disorders such as GAD, panic, social anxiety and OCD, as well as trauma and non-dependent addictive behaviours.
This background has helped me develop a flexible and grounded approach when working with more complex or longstanding difficulties.
Alongside this, I offer culturally sensitive and faith-aware therapy where this is important to the person I’m working with.
If you have any questions or would like to arrange an initial session, please feel free to get in touch.
Practice description
My practice offers a confidential and supportive space where clients can talk openly and begin to make sense of what they are experiencing.
I work in a calm, structured and client-centred way, adapting sessions to suit individual needs rather than following a rigid format.
Using an integrative approach, sessions focus on understanding patterns of thinking and behaviour and building practical tools that can help reduce distress and improve day-to-day functioning. Where appropriate, I also incorporate counselling techniques to support deeper reflection and emotional processing.
I also draw on additional approaches where suitable, including hypnotherapy, NLP-informed techniques and walk & talk sessions, depending on the needs and preferences of the client.
I work with a number of private health insurance providers, including Bupa, AXA, Aviva and WPA.
You can take a look at my website for more information about the services I offer.
My first session
The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and to explore what has brought you to therapy. We will talk through your current concerns, background and what you would like to get out of sessions.
I also offer an initial 20-minute consultation to briefly discuss your needs and see whether working together feels like a good fit.
I may ask some initial questions to help build a clearer picture of your situation, but there is no pressure to share anything you are not comfortable with. The session is also a chance for you to ask any questions and see whether my approach feels right for you.
Sessions are collaborative from the outset and we will begin to outline what working together might look like, including possible goals or areas of focus.
There is no obligation to continue after the first session if it does not feel like the right fit.
