About me and my therapy practice

Welcome to Reflection Counselling. I work with adults, young people and children aged 9+, offering a warm, inclusive and neurodiversity‑affirming space. I support a wide range of issues and specialise in anxiety, depression and teenage challenges. I also have extensive experience working with ADHD, Autism, AUDHD, Dyslexia, Tourettes and non‑verbal clients, LGBTQIA+ clients.

Practice description

My practice is shaped by both professional expertise and lived experience. I have ADHD with autistic traits and have raised an autistic young adult, giving me a deep, first‑hand understanding of neurodivergence. I’ve worked in this field for over 20 years, from teaching to counselling.

As a Humanistic Integrative Counsellor, I draw from a range of approaches including Person‑Centred, CBT, DBT, Gestalt, TA and creative therapies. Sessions can take place in my cosy garden cabin in Upton, Poole, or online, by phone, text, email or WhatsApp. I also offer Walk and Talk therapy at local beaches or country parks.

My cabin is often described as calming and comfortable, with soft lighting, blankets and sensory items available. I work at your pace, with your agenda, and we regularly review how therapy is feeling for you. As I work online, I can support clients across the UK and in some other countries

My first session

Our first meeting is a 50‑minute, no‑obligation consultation session. This gives us a chance to meet, explore what you’re hoping to gain from therapy and discuss any areas you’d like to focus on. We’ll also talk about which format feels right for you — face‑to‑face, online, telephone, texting or Walk and Talk therapy.

After this initial session, you can decide whether you feel comfortable working with me and whether I’m the right fit for your needs.
