About me and my therapy practice

Couples Therapy (specific)

I also offer individual and family therapy, alongside specialist trauma and EMDR work.

I am an experienced, BACP-accredited therapist offering individual, couples and family therapy online across the UK. My approach is integrative and person-centred, meaning I draw from a range of therapeutic models and tailor the work to your individual needs, circumstances and goals.

I have particular experience in relationship difficulties, trauma, anxiety, emotional distress and family conflict. In couples therapy, I use relational approaches and the Gottman Method to help partners understand patterns within their relationship, improve communication, manage conflict and rebuild emotional connection.

I specialise in working with Muslim couples, including premarital couples and newlyweds, as well as Muslim individuals and families. As a Muslim therapist, I understand that faith, family, culture and personal values can be closely connected to relationships and wellbeing. My work is culturally and religiously sensitive, while respecting each person's individual beliefs and choices.

For couples, I provide a balanced and impartial therapeutic space where both partners can feel heard, respected and understood. My role is not to take sides, but to help each person explore their experiences and understand the relational patterns that may be contributing to difficulties.

My wider clinical experience spans mental health, domestic abuse, victim support, community services and higher education.

I am committed to ethical, compassionate and psychologically informed practice, working in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework.

Practice description

Relationships can become difficult for many reasons, and seeking couples counselling does not mean that your relationship has failed. Sometimes couples feel stuck in recurring arguments; at other times there may be emotional distance, loss of trust, difficulties with intimacy, infidelity, family or in-law pressures, or uncertainty about the future of the relationship.

I offer Muslim couples therapy and marriage counselling for couples who want to better understand what is happening within their relationship and work towards meaningful change. I also support couples from diverse cultural and religious backgrounds.

My approach draws on the Gottman Method, alongside specialist training with an Islamic-aligned psychotherapy organisation in the USA, where I have become certified in Working with Muslim Families and studied the Practical Frameworks of Islamic Law for Muslim Individuals and Couples. This has deepened my understanding of how Islamic perspectives, family life and therapeutic practice can intersect, enabling me to provide culturally and faith-sensitive support where appropriate.

My couples work focuses on communication, emotional connection, conflict patterns, trust and understanding each partner’s needs. Where relevant, we can also explore how culture, faith, family expectations and personal values influence the relationship.

I aim to create a therapeutic environment that is warm, respectful and impartial. Both partners are given space to express themselves without judgement, while I help you look beneath recurring disagreements to understand the emotions, beliefs and patterns that may be maintaining them.

Sessions are provided online through a secure platform, offering flexibility and privacy from a space that is comfortable for you.

I also offer individual and family therapy, alongside specialist trauma and EMDR work.

My first session

The first session is an opportunity for us to understand what has brought you to therapy and what you would like to achieve. For couples, I will invite each partner to share their perspective, concerns and hopes for the relationship, while ensuring that both people have space to be heard.

We will explore the main difficulties within the relationship, relevant relationship history, current patterns of communication and conflict, and any factors that may be affecting your connection. Where relevant, this may include family dynamics, cultural or religious considerations, trust, intimacy and significant life events.

I will explain how couples therapy works, including confidentiality, boundaries and my role as a neutral and impartial therapist. We can discuss what you hope to change and begin identifying therapeutic goals together.

There is no expectation that you will arrive with everything figured out. The first session is about developing an initial understanding of your circumstances and considering how I can best support you. We can then agree on a collaborative approach that is appropriate for your needs.

I offer a free 20-minute telephone consultation before booking, giving you an opportunity to briefly discuss what you are looking for and ask any questions about couples therapy.

About me and my therapy practice

As a person-centred therapist, I draw upon a broad range of therapeutic approaches and extensive mental health knowledge to shape therapy to your unique circumstances.

My practice is integrative and informed by a variety of evidence-based therapeutic models. I believe that the most effective therapeutic outcomes are often achieved through combining approaches expertly allowing therapy to respond to the complexity of each person's experiences.

I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), a highly effective, evidence-based therapy recommended by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) for the treatment of trauma and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). I work with clients experiencing trauma, anxiety, low self-esteem, and the lasting impact of distressing life events. I also have experience supporting individuals who have experienced psychosis and those living with voices. All EMDR sessions are delivered online using secure specialist software and in accordance with recognised best practice.

My therapeutic style is collaborative and outcome focused. I work alongside clients to help them develop greater insights into their lives. I also support clients in building emotional regulation and resilience, enabling them to overcome difficulties and move towards the life they wish to lead. Above all, I aim to provide a therapeutic relationship that is safe and containing, while empowering each client to achieve meaningful and lasting change.

Practice description

I am an experienced therapist, EMDR practitioner, couples therapist, and Clinical Supervisor. Throughout my career, I have worked with individuals and couples from a wide range of backgrounds, supporting them through life's challenges with warmth, compassion, and professional expertise.

My approach is founded on the belief that every person deserves to feel heard, understood, and respected. I strive to create a safe and non-judgemental space where clients can explore their experiences openly and work towards meaningful and lasting change.

Alongside my work with individuals, I have a particular interest in relationship and marriage counselling. I am trained in the Gottman Method, a highly respected, research-based approach to strengthening relationships and improving communication between couples. I have also undertaken professional training in Islamic marriage and relationship work, based in the United States.

I work with couples from a wide range of cultural, faith, and personal backgrounds, supporting those who are married, preparing for marriage, or navigating relationship challenges. I have particular experience working with Muslim couples from diverse cultural backgrounds and various Islamic schools of thought, and I am able to sensitively integrate faith into the therapeutic process where this is important to the couple. My approach is respectful of the diversity that exists within Muslim communities while remaining inclusive and welcoming to clients of all faiths and none.

I am also an experienced Clinical Supervisor, supporting both qualified counsellors and trainee practitioners. My supervision work is grounded in the Seven-Eyed Model of Supervision by Hawkins and Shohet, offering a reflective and supportive environment that encourages professional growth and ethical practice.

Whether you are seeking support for yourself, your relationship, or your professional development as a therapist, I am committed to providing a collaborative and respectful service.

About me and my therapy practice

I am an experienced Clinical Supervisor, person-centred therapist, EMDR practitioner, and couples therapist. Throughout my career, I have worked with individuals and couples from a wide range of backgrounds, giving me a breadth of clinical experience that informs and enriches my supervision practice.

My approach to supervision is founded on the belief that practitioners deserve a professional space where they feel heard, understood, respected, and appropriately challenged. I strive to create a safe, reflective, and non-judgemental environment in which supervisees can openly explore their client work, professional development, ethical considerations, and clinical decision-making.

Alongside my work as a supervisor, I have specialist experience in trauma, EMDR, relationship and marriage counselling, and working with diverse cultural and faith communities. I work with both qualified counsellors and trainee practitioners who are committed to engaging in regular supervision and maintaining high standards of client care.

Practice description

I am an experienced Clinical Supervisor, supporting both qualified counsellors and trainee practitioners. My supervision work is grounded in the Seven-Eyed Model of Supervision developed by Hawkins and Shohet, providing a reflective, collaborative, and supportive space that promotes professional development, clinical confidence, and ethical practice.

I currently offer supervision to fully qualified practitioners and trainee counsellors who are working with adult clients aged 18 and over. I am happy to discuss professional requirements and provide guidance regarding supervision arrangements and frequency; however, I work best with supervisees who are committed to a regular and ongoing supervisory relationship rather than seeking ad hoc or occasional support.

Safe and ethical practice is at the heart of my supervision philosophy. Regular supervision is essential for maintaining professional standards, safeguarding client wellbeing, and supporting effective clinical practice. As such, I ask supervisees to engage consistently with the supervision process and demonstrate the same commitment to ethical and responsible practice that I bring to my supervisory work.
