About me and my therapy practice

I trained as psychotherapeutic counsellor at Re-Vision in London and I offer Integrative Transpersonal counselling. I use a variety of approaches and my work is underpinned by a soulful perspective. This means therapy is about supporting the human search for destiny and meaning as much as it is about healing from the wounds of the past.

Sometimes it can be hard to find words, so the ‘conversation’ in therapy is not always verbal, linear, direct or ’reasonable’. Through movement, nature, art, and music, and through accessing our innate creativity, we access a ‘wilder’, non-rational level of knowledge. Through exploring dream images and fantasies, and through stories, myths and poetry, we learn to listen to the depths of wisdom available to us all.

My approach is highly relational, meaning I do not hide behind a professional mask but meet you in the most ordinary way, as a fellow human being. Through exploring the twists and turns our relationship openly together, we catch glimpses of the ways in which you tend to relate in the world. As awareness of your habitual patterns in relationship grows there is a broadening of possibilities for relating differently, and your range of available responses and ways of being increases.

I worked in mental health for 15years and am experienced in supporting people through intense and overwhelming mental and emotional difficulties and trauma. I have also worked offering bereavement counselling in a local hospice and working with young people with mental health problems at University.

I have a particular interest in working with issues of difference, diversity and social injustice within a therapeutic setting. I care deeply for the environment have experience helping people who are struggling to process the climate/ biodiversity crisis and/ or who are suffering from trauma or burn-out linked with their environmental activism.
