About me and my therapy practice

I’m a Counsellor and CBT Therapist offering a warm, supportive and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly about what you’re experiencing and begin to understand yourself on a deeper level.

I work with 12 and above experiencing a range of difficulties, including anxiety, low mood, stress, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, attachment issues, emotional overwhelm, ADHD-related challenges and the impact of difficult or traumatic life experiences.

I believe therapy should feel collaborative. I won’t tell you what you “should” do or judge the choices you’ve made. Instead, I’ll help you make sense of what is happening, recognise patterns that may be keeping you stuck and support you in making changes that feel right for you.

My aim is to provide a down-to-earth, compassionate environment where you can feel safe enough to be yourself. Whether you’re struggling with something specific or simply know that you don’t feel like yourself anymore, we can work together to help you move towards greater understanding, confidence and emotional wellbeing.

Practice description

My approach combines counselling with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), allowing our work together to be tailored to you rather than following a “one size fits all” approach. Some people need space to talk, process their experiences and feel truly heard, while others benefit from a more structured approach with practical strategies, exercises and goals. Often, we use a combination of both.

Together, we can explore how your past experiences may be influencing the way you think, feel and respond today. We may look at unhelpful thought patterns, behaviours, relationships, triggers and coping strategies, while developing healthier ways of managing difficult emotions and situations.

My first session

Your first session is really about helping you feel comfortable and giving us the opportunity to get to know each other. I understand that starting therapy can feel daunting, so there is no pressure to share anything before you feel ready.

We’ll talk about what has brought you to therapy, what you’re currently experiencing and what you would like to get from our sessions. It’s also an opportunity for you to ask questions and get a feel for how I work.

Together, we’ll begin to identify the areas you would like support with and come up with a plan that feels manageable and personal to you. Therapy is collaborative, so we’ll regularly review how things are going and adapt our approach as your needs change.

Most importantly, the first session is about making sure you feel heard, understood and comfortable working together.
