About me and my therapy practice

Trauma informed therapy for adults affected by difficult family dynamics, coercive relationships, sexual trauma, or major loss. Work stress, burnout, ADHD, dissociation, and complex trauma, handled with care and at a pace you can manage. In Bromley or online.

Many of the people I see come from complex or narcissistic families, have lived through sexual or relational trauma, or grew up feeling emotionally overlooked. In adult life this can show up as self-doubt, a harsh inner critic, people-pleasing, shame around having needs, difficulties in intimacy, overworking, or periods of switching off or disconnecting. You may feel stuck in patterns you don’t like, and at the same time struggle to imagine what a different way of living would even look like.

Therapy with me offers a calm, steady, trauma-informed space where you don’t have to minimise your experience or mask. It is an hour a week that is only for you, no multitasking, no performing, to think, feel and slowly make sense of how your past is still shaping your present. You don’t need perfect words or a clear story; we can start from “something isn’t right and I don’t know what to do about it”.

Common themes in my practice include:

  • burnout and overwhelm
  • Grief and loss
  • neurodiversity, including late diagnosis
  • menopause, midlife questions and life transitions
  • complex or narcissistic family dynamics
  • sexual trauma in childhood and adulthood
  • trauma, PTSD and dissociation

Training & qualifications

  • BACP Senior Accredited
  • Postgraduate Diploma Psychodynamic Psychotherapeutic Counselling
  • MA Psychoanalytic Studies
  • Tavistock NHS Trust Certificate in Theory and Treatment of Trauma
  • BA (Hons) Therapeutic Psychology and Counselling
  • Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Supervision

Currently studying Professional Doctorate in Psychotherapy/Psychological Trauma

Specialist training in complex trauma, dissociation, bereavement, and therapeutic / reflective writing/Bibliotherapy.

Practice description

I am a psychodynamic psychotherapist, which means we pay attention to patterns, the ones that formed early and still shape how you think, feel, and relate now. Sessions are collaborative. You bring what feels relevant, and I follow your lead rather than working to an agenda or giving advice.

My practice is trauma-informed. This means I understand that many emotional responses that feel excessive or confusing make sense in the context of what you have lived through. I work carefully and at your pace, without pressure to disclose quickly or move into difficult material before you are ready.

My work is also informed by attachment theory. We look at how your earliest relationships shaped your expectations of closeness, safety, and trust, and how those expectations still show up in your relationships today. Many people find this the a useful lens for understanding why certain patterns keep repeating, even when they know better.

I have a particular interest in dissociation and complex trauma, and I hold specialist training in this area. If you go blank under stress, feel detached from your body or feelings, or notice gaps in memory or continuity, this is something I am trained to work with steadily and without alarm.

I also offer therapeutic writing as an option for clients who find written expression useful. This goes beyond journaling. Writing can happen within sessions or between them, and might involve letters, reflection, or structured prompts. It is never compulsory.

I work from a private quiet commercial office in Bromley. Sessions are also available online via Zoom. I offer open-ended weekly therapy, time-limited work, and single session therapy for specific, non-crisis issues.

My first session

Your first session is a chance to get a feel for how I work and whether it feels right for you. I'll explain my approach, answer any questions, and make clear that you set the pace. Some people talk at length in a first session; others say very little. Both are fine.

You might talk about what is bringing you to therapy now, whether that is trauma, burnout, menopause, or a vaguer sense that something is not right. If words do not come easily, that is not a problem. I will check in gently rather than leave you sitting with uncomfortable silence.

We will also talk about what you want from therapy. Sometimes that is specific, and sometimes it is just a feeling that something has to change. Either is a reasonable place to start. By the end of the session you will have a sense of what working with me feels like.

A note about Single Session Therapy

Sometimes one focused conversation is enough. In a single session of 50, 75, or 90 minutes you get a confidential space to think through a specific issue, gain some clarity, and leave with a clearer sense of where you stand. It is also available as a one-off check-in for existing or previous clients. SST is not suitable for trauma processing or crisis support, but for a contained, specific issue it can be exactly what is needed.

What I can help with

Abuse, ADD / ADHD, Bereavement, Disability, Health related issues, Loss, Menopause, Neurodiversity, Post-traumatic stress, Relationships, Self esteem, Spirituality, Stress, Trauma, Women's issues, Work related issues

Types of therapy

Brief therapy, Psychodynamic, Relational

Clients I work with

Adults, Groups, Older adults, Organisations, Trainees

How I deliver therapy

Long term sessions, Long-term face-to-face work, Online therapy, Short term sessions, Short-term face-to-face work, Single session therapy (SST)

Supervisor - Bromley

Bromley BR1
Sessions from £95.00

Supervision in person (Bromley) or online over zoom available fortnightly or monthly to suit your needs. Concessions for trainees.

About me and my therapy practice

If you are looking for a supportive supervisor. I would love to hear from you. Please feel free to contact me to discuss your supervision needs or to arrange an initial meeting.

I hold a Certificate in Psychodynamic Supervision and a Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Supervision. These qualifications equip me with the skills to provide effective supervision to psychotherapists and counsellors at various stages of their careers. Whether you are an early career psychotherapist, still in training, or running your private practice, I am here to support you.

Who I Support

Private Practitioners: Running a private practice can be rewarding but also challenging. I offer guidance on maintaining professional boundaries, managing client relationships, and ensuring ethical practice. Additionally, I can provide support on the business side of running a practice, helping you navigate issues such as marketing, client acquisition, and balancing case loads.

Early Career therapists: Starting out in this field can be daunting. I offer a safe space for you to discuss your cases, reflect on your practice, and gain confidence in your therapeutic skills. My aim is to help you develop a strong foundation for a successful career in psychotherapy and counselling.

Trainees: If you are still in training, supervision is a crucial part of your development. I provide structured supervision to help you integrate theory with practice, understand the dynamics of the therapeutic relationship, and build your clinical skills.

Practice description

My supervision style is warm, approachable, and collaborative. I believe in creating a supportive environment where you feel comfortable discussing your challenges and successes. Together, we will explore your cases, reflect on your experiences, and identify areas for growth. I aim to help you develop your unique therapeutic voice while adhering to best practices.

A Place for the Whole You Bring all of it, your curiosity, your doubts, your joy, your tiredness, even your burnout. Supervision isn’t about chasing the “right” answers. It’s about staying true to yourself and the values that keep you grounded as a therapist.

No Masks Needed If you’re neurodivergent, you may know the pressure of feeling like you have to “perform.” Here, you can set that burden down. Together, we’ll shape supervision in ways that support you, agreeing clear expectations, adapting how we communicate, and checking in on what helps you feel safe and steady.

Honouring Lived Experience Many therapists bring their own lived experiences into the room, and this perspective can be both powerful and complex. Supervision is a space where your experiences are respected and valued, while also supporting you to navigate boundaries and maintain your wellbeing as a practitioner.

Reflective Practice: Supervision is a space for reflection. We will explore your feelings and reactions to your clients, helping you understand how these influence your therapeutic work. This reflective practice is essential for personal and professional growth.

Ethical and Professional Guidance: Maintaining ethical standards is paramount in psychotherapy. I provide guidance on ethical dilemmas and professional conduct, ensuring you practice safely and effectively.

Practical Support: Beyond clinical issues, I offer practical support on the logistics of running a practice. From setting up your business to managing your workload, I am here to help you navigate the practicalities of being a therapist.
