Update: I am now welcoming new clients.
Hi, I’m Tracy, a fully qualified counsellor and clinical supervisor. I work with adults (16+) in my discreet, comfortable therapy room in Horbury, and online. Please read on for more information.
About me and my therapy practice
I understand how overwhelming life can feel and I offer a calm, safe, supportive space to explore what is important for you.
You may be facing difficult challenges such as a loss of a loved one, a relationship or a job. You could be feeling debilitating anxiety, panic attacks and unable to function on a day-to-day basis. You might feel trapped in a cycle of arguments or feeling misunderstood in your relationships and feeling unable to make things better. You may be finding that past pain and distress such as childhood neglect and abuse are impacting you now.
I am mindful of how daunting reaching out for counselling can be and want you to feel safe, heard, not judged or rushed. We work at your pace and focus on what is important for you. Often clients tell me they learn so much about themselves from simply being listened to and are surprised what they share when they have the space to slow down, reflect on themselves and their experiences.

Practice description
I am an integrative, relational therapist and draw on a range of theories and approaches in our work together. My core approach is humanistic, centred on exploring and understanding how it feels to be you, and helping you to realise your potential for growth. I draw on mindful CBT to support achievement of specific goals and to manage and overcome aspects of anxiety and stress. Transactional Analysis theory and process helps us to become aware of the past and present relational processes that are keeping you stuck and help you find a way forward.
Working together we could:
• Explore your experiences, feelings, sense of self and identity
• Help you to be more compassionate, kind and understanding to yourself
• Discover the patterns that are keeping you stuck in your relationships
• Understand how childhood experiences are affecting your life now and work through the impact of past trauma
• Help you to feel more present and purposeful and satisfied with life

About me and my therapy practice
I work with warmth and purpose with both trainee and qualified therapists to encourage honest reflection on your work and promote exploration and growth.Practice description
Hi, I’m Tracy.
I am a practising Integrative Relational Counsellor and Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor. I also have a Psychology degree and lots of previous experience of supporting and nurturing the growth of individuals and groups.
I enjoy and value my own supervision and work with warmth and purpose to recreate a similar experience with my supervisees. I offer a safe and non-judgemental space for you to explore the therapeutic relationships you have with your clients and support you to grow in ways that feel authentic to you and your practice. My training and ongoing development enables me to support you in your preferred modality and also consider other approaches and creative ways of working if that feels useful.
Although I work solely in private practice now, I receive referrals from employers and care agencies and often work with people experiencing challenging lives. Depending on your practice, I understand that you may well be working with clients who have extremely difficult and distressing experiences and I can collaborate and share my experience and expertise with you when this would be helpful.
Working in helping professions is challenging and as well as client safety, your safety and wellbeing is at the heart of our supervisory relationship.
I offer in person supervision from my practice in a welcoming, relaxed setting in Horbury, 5 minutes from the M1 Junction 40 and easily accessed from Wakefield, Huddersfield, Leeds, Barnsley and surrounding areas. There is parking for you right outside. If you don’t live near enough to see me or prefer the convenience of remote supervision sometimes or always, then I’m happy to work via Zoom or telephone.
My fees for supervision are £50 for 1 hour, £60 for 1.5 hours. Reduced fees are available to trainee counsellors. If you would like to chat about the possibility of us working together, contact me on tracyhardcastlecounselling@outlook.com or 07838 318410.
